According to IMDB, the show is "centered around a group of football players and their families, friends and handlers."

I would have rather had Playmakers not get cancelled after one damn good season. Talk about a sports themed show that had a hell of a lot of potential. The girl I was dating at the time that show originally aired absolutely despised sports and even she loved that show. No Fun League really screwed us all on that one.

Ditto this. That show is probably the best fictional program ESPN has ever put together and it's obvious that the NFL had a big role in that show going away. Ratings are what drives tv shows and at that time Playmakers was ESPN's 2nd highest rated program, 2nd only to Sunday Night Football(If wiki is true). The NFL making threats to take away real games or not renew broadcasting contract once up is the only reason they would cancel a show that was that successful from a ratings viewpoint.

Yea I just read a review earlier this morning that said it was decent. Set it up to tape on DVR will watch it tomorrow and post my impressions.

Just finished the first ep, if you ask me what it was about in details, I couldn't tell you. The rock is a banker looking to get football.players to safeguard their money...?


However as a football fan, it was AWESOME. Seeing that their using real teams and real players (Antonio Brown, Steven and Desean Jackson) pretty awesome. Has a "Playmakers" vibe to it so far. Looking forward ton more and hopefully the story picks up

Def enjoyed the 1st episode.

I laughed a bit inside when Spencer was at the ATM with his girl, mainly because I've been in that position before and played it off smooth just like he did.

I also like the fact they're using actual NFL Players and Teams as well. Can't wait for next week and hopefully this gets picked up to do more episodes in the future.
