The main thing I took away from that is "Hell yeah, Donald Glover."

Never heard of this book before, I might need to check it out. Sounds like a decent story.

I wish I didn't see the trailer, they gave away too many plot points. If they just showed Damon on Mars Macgyver his way through a couple things that would have been enough for me.

Yeah seems alot of trailers now reveal to much nowadays. One of the worst offenders recently is the upcoming terminator film.

            Very good book.
            Unique.
But without giving anything away.....even I...who puts the "anything can happen" spin on just about, well, anything....started saying "c'mon man".

You had me at "I'm gonna have to science the hell out of this ****."

I hope it's not as "action-ey" as the trailer looks though. I want real science! And maybe a fifth-dimension library.

                Just watched the trailer.
It looks like they stuck to the book quite a bit.....maybe exactly actually.

Looks good, but this trailer should have ended at about 1:40. You'll have everyone who wants to watch it hooked by that point. Any more than that and you're just revealing too much of your own film.

They really need to learn how to market better.

I agree no need for 3 minute plus trailers. Just give us a nibble not the whole meal.

Yeah that was pretty ridiculous, I didn't need to see so much of that. Should have a page from the initial Interstellar trailers. Even that movie I was disappointed they were showing them on other planets and stuff by the 2nd trailer and stopped watching them.

First trailer should have been all of the setup, then nothing of Matt Damon again and the signal they got... 'can you read me' or whatever, show shocked faces and go to the title card.

Like said above, this seems to be Hollywood's marketing plan. They either kill a non-comedic movie by showing too many plots points and scenes or a comedic movie by showing some of the funniest scenes throughout the 3+ trailers put out any longer. Oh....and it seems it needs to be a year in advance at times. Ridiculous.

I bought the book after watching the trailer, been reading it almost non-stop the last 48 hours. Great stuff.

Based on what I have read so far I am very interested to see what kind of tone and direction Ridley Scott took with this.
