        Re: The X-Files

While there are many negatives in today's entertainment atmosphere, one of the few bright spots has been the relative golden age of television. The fact that old beloved series can actually come back from the dead (which almost never happened until relatively recently) gives people hope that some ahead-of-their-time shows can be revived.

Can't wait for this. This might be the first thing I watch on network television (aside from football) in years. My favorite episodes from the original run:

        - "Ice"
        - "Eve"
        - "Night Falls"
        - "Field Trip"

Are Doggett and Reyes coming back as well? I never really liked the show much after Mulder left, although it could still have its moments.

One thing I hope is that Mulder's character is intact, and Duchovny doesn't bring any Hank Moody to Mulder. I loved "Californication", but that's a decidedly different TV universe...

Pretty sure I read that Dogget and Reyes will be back.

I own the X-Files Mythology series. I love this set because it takes different episodes from each season and creates an anthology of the series. Highly Recommended

I loved this show as a kid when I was in high school. Was worried they might mess it up, but last night episode was really good.

                              Re: The X-Files

The first episode was a weird mix of stilted and off and simultaneously the same vibe and chemistry overall. Created the weird feeling the X-Files never went off the air.

Granted, the first part of my impression might be due to storytelling elements that need to be addressed, and the constrained length of the mini series, and Chris Carter writing the episode.

Even though the episode's emphasis on the evolution of technology and politics since the series ended was a bit ham-handed, it really did make me realize how good and relevant this show could be if it ever returned in a greater capacity.
