Good episodes but damn the things they go into are insane. I was too young to remember the originals too well.

We'll the gangs back together and they haven't missed a beat. That was a great episode and an awesome way to start off what I'm expecting to be a wild ride.

        Re: The X-Files

My beloved X-Files is back great show loved last night's opener. I like how they used the original starting as well. I got nostalgic afterwards & pulled out my X-Files merchandise which consist of book's, mug, posters, trading cards, t-shirt, fan club pics. keychain etc. I started collecting back in 93 when the show first began. I even recorded alot of the episodes on vhs. I want to pick up the complete series on blu-ray but it's a bit pricey for me at the moment. Looking forward to tonight's episode.

Great opening. Felt just like the original series.

I really really hope they do more than 6 episodes.

If it goes well, they will probably just reboot the series next year like 24 is doing. All depends on the ratings and number of views they get for these 6 episodes.

I would bet good money on this being what ends up happening (a full series return, maybe not a full reboot). I think the ratings are gonna be unreal for this.

It was originally going to be 10 episodes but because of Duchovny & Andersons scheduling 6 was more ideal for them. I would assume we'd see another mini-series at some point depending on ratings.

                    Re: The X-Files

Great to have the show back. The first episode was functionally (necessarily) hindered by the fact that it's been 15 years or whatever since the last episode and many, many people in the target demo have never even seen an episode, so you do have to do some exposition to catch people up who never watched it before (although I agree it was a bit ham-handed). Given those constraints, I think they did a really good job. The only complaint I had was how flimsy it was that Skinner just re-opened the X-Files and re-activated Mulder & Scully on a whim despite the fact that neither were currently members/employees of the FBI. I know in a show about aliens that's a minor point, but it just seems like it might be a little more difficult than that to re-launch a specialized FBI task force with 2 individuals not currently employed by the bureau. But whatever, I guess. (Also, in all this time AD Skinner has never gotten a promotion? Jesus, leave the bureau already and seek better employment!)

The second installment was fantastic. Right back into full-swing X-Files and as good as anything in the original run. And for a 'mythology' episode, which I never particularly liked to be honest, it was really exciting. It was actually a nice mix of a monster-of-the-week episode and a mythology episode. It's been forever since I actually looked forward to watching a show on network television. Probably about the time the X-Files went off the air is the last time.

Really looking forward to a true monster-of-the-week episode next week. If that episode is good, the show officially hasn't lost a step.

Went to watch it last night and it was about 30 mins of the Panthers winning celebration so I wasn't able to catch it.
