    Re: The X-Files

All very reasonable points. I do think the episode would have been better served to have been later in the run - a lot of the self-referential and self-critique stuff that is part and parcel of a Darin Morgan episode only works once you've established the mythology of the show. Since this is effectively a "new" run of episodes, it would have been better to save this one for later.

I thought I read somewhere that an episode called "Home Again" is coming up....which, if you like your X-Files dark and deeply disturbing, will be red meat for you. I'm still not sure I totally understood the original "Home" episode....

So this week's episode kinda sucked, huh? Not only did the episode not end up being what I thought it would be (given the title "Home Again"....), but it was just....I dunno, "stupid" is the only word that comes to mind. It's like it just went nowhere and there wasn't even an interesting explanation for the monster of the week. Hard to believe that in a 6-episode mini-run, this was one of the best ideas they had....

At least that one has the potential to be funny.

It was originally going to be 10 but do to duchovny & anderson's schedule they decided on 6. I think we could get another little mini series in the future since it's done well. There was also talk awhile back of another movie. I do hope we get more as I am a big fan of the series.

The lizard man episode was one of the worst episodes of TV I have ever seen. It's like the writers just said eff it.

The only good part about the ending being left that wide open is that we are almost definitely getting more episodes at some point.

Yep look's like more episodes are a lock as creator chris carter says fox wants more it's just a matter of when. http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/liv...-carter-868198

No way you leave it like that if there aren't going to be more episodes. That would just be...mean.

I feel like the 1st/last episodes of the mini-season should have been part of a broader, separately released theatrical film (3rd X-Files movie), which then led into a new season of the show. It just seemed like the story arc of those episodes was too broad/epic for television.

Well at least that episode was arguably the best of the mini-series. That's the X-Files I remember.

However, if Scully said Einstein one more time I may have shot myself.

I feel like I am one of the few on the internet who really enjoyed this. Was it perfect? Nah, but I just loved the nostalgia and loved seeming Mulder and Scully again

I agree with you. It could have been better but I really enjoyed it. The original run was great but it had hit and miss episodes as well.
