For anyone here who grew up on DBZ, they just released a new Series called Dragonball Super. This takes place after the fight with Majin Buu but before the 10 year time span. Synopsis says, The crew adventures to a new part of the universe to find Super Dragonballs.
Now, story so far isn't mind blowing but DBZ wasn't about story but pure over the top action with some sizzled in humor. However after Watching thsee past two episodes, I'm severely underwhelmed and I still deeply love the show. Just finished watching DBZ Kai and felt the same way I did when I watched the series 10 years ago.
Animations look great but there's something off about it. Characters seem scrawny in comparison to the older style. And frankly, I hated the last villain in the new movie that came out last year, Beerus and he seems to be the main guy so far this season and I find him to be an extremely boring character.
So far, the series is rehashing the movie with some more details sprinkled in between. I'm hoping this is a mini arc and we get a more charming villain. It's been 20+ years since DBZ was on air, I'm not expecting Hollywood drama here, but I have they add some more layers to the characters and give us some worthy villains who can rival Frieza and Cell
