Massive Adobe Flash Vulnerability in the Wild

Was reading about this, then saw that Firefox did to Flash what they did to Java, and disabled it via the plugin page. This all stems from a company that got hacked earlier this month called "The Hacking Team". Hacking Team is a company that sells "weaponized spyware" for use by governments. The exploit can also infect Google Chrome, bypassing its sandbox feature.

Spooky stuff.

Looks like you're right. Every page i've been to since last night with flash built into it has been disabled due to vulnerabilities.

I don't use Chrome. Has Chrome disabled it as well? Most of my family uses it.

Going to dump flash for good, too many vulnerabilities to patch and it's used less and less for anything worthwhile.

Even though they updated today, I'd still be careful where you use it. I keep it as "Ask to activate" since some sites I use require it. Thankfully Firefox can use HTML5 for Youtube.

I really only use flash for FB games so I updated but I read an article saying that from now on Firefox will not support flash in future updates. I guess that would mean if you want to use it you'll have to "allow" it manually.

So, the latest I'm reading is one should have Flash updates 18.0.0.203 (Windows and OS X) and 11.2.202.481 (Linux), minimally. Apparently Chrome is safer than Firefox for now. I updated Chrome which placed it at 18.0.0.209. Firefox recommends continuing it being disabled.

Anyone else have this information or am I misreading something?

I use Firefox and am using version 18.0.0.209 I just checked the Adobe page and that's still the latest update they have listed.
