If it helps (or hurts, depending on how you look at it), I taped it and started watching... and got through about 30 mins too before putting on something else.

I'm still on board right now. The first episode was up and down, but I'm giving it the benefit of the doubt as characters are developed and the back story is told. The Kurt Sutter style brutality has definitely shown itself all ready. If anyone missed it, Amazon Prime app has the Pilot episode for free.

The second portion of the pilot was much more fast paced.. I think I like it.

          Only time will tell.

Anyone confused with episode order ?

I watched the Pilot Part 1 & 2 before episode 3 came to Amazon Prime.

I went to watch Episode 3 today and it's the same episode as Pilot Part 2. So I went back and played the Pilot Part 2 again and it's a totally different episode I haven't seen yet. I went to IMDB and it seems my episodes are now in order, but it's sort of weird when I think about it.

They totally skipped Episode 2 and showed me Episode 3 first.

I went back and finished episode 1. After coming close to clicking on episode 2 a few times on my dvr list, I went ahead and deleted it... I'm throwing in the towel. Two many good looking new shows, and old shows starting their new seasons for me to give this any more of a chance.

Please keep commenting if it ends up getting good. Just couldn't get into it.

"Watched" episode 3, I'm giving it 5-10 minutes for the episode tonight and will probably delete it.

Wife and I tried to watch the pilot last night. I passed out after 15 minutes.

I'm done. There are lots of potential stories, but the writers seem like they don't want to tell you anything about them.

Maybe it's because I was falling asleep so I wasn't really paying attention to the 10-15 minutes I watched, but did anyone else feel a little bit like Game of Thrones?

I could say yes, but it's just because of the time it's based so we want to compare it to the best thing we know with a similar setting, lol. Maybe we can call it the homeless cousin of a poor man's GOT?

Watched the Last Kingdom on BBC America and if you like this type of show, then you should check that on out. The first episode was a lot better than anything in this series.

I'll check it out because TBEX has grown on me and I always watch it.

                              Re: The Bastard Executioner

I had this sitting on my DVR for over a month now, just finally got around to watching the pilot. Yes, it was very slow to start, but I was able to manage and get through the first half hour just because I love this time period.

But holy **** did that the action (and blood!) ramp up tenfold at the end of the first hour. When they bring the action and blood, they really bring the action and blood. It absolutely lives up to its TV-M LSV rating.

The second hour seems to be off to a good start too based on where the plot is currently leading things.

Still the entire second half of the pilot to go, but so far, I'm sold on this show and plan on watching all the episodes still on my DVR and finishing out the season.

Overall, it seems to definitely be a love it or hate it type show.
