I saw it in 70mm when it was out originally. Just a fantastic film.

Yup, I saw it four times in theaters (twice in 70mm IMAX) and would love to go a fifth, specifically in that aforementioned format.

      Some more re-release news:

On January 24, the film's rerelease will be expanded to include 250 additional locations.
Only by that point we will already have the Blu-ray in our hands.

Yessss! When I saw this bumped I got my hopes up it was for a re-release. Luckily there is a theater about 35 min away from me that will have it. I think it's a LieMAX theater as opposed to the amazing real one closer by, but oh well.

Darn, that really means all the difference in the world. After catching a pre-screening of some flick, I jumped into a theater showing Dunkirk in LieMAX for a few seconds. It's so not the same thing, not at all.

But yes, seeing this film again on the big screen is so enticing.

Is there a re-re-release near awards seasons? I might luck out and they bring it back to the good one.

This might be that re-release. DVD, BD and UHD screeners have already been sent to Academy voters, plus this set of showings in theaters.

They will open up to more theaters later, but these are the IMAX screens they'll be showing on.

Caught a 70mm IMAX screening today in San Francisco at 4:00. Third time seeing it in that format, fifth theater viewing overall. It's just sexy as hell to watch that way, and it's a shame it will be my last. Now that I spent money on that, I'm just going to ask for the Blu-ray for Christmas, heh. There were 27 people in the theater, myself included.

On an unrelated note, I preordered my ticket and picked it up from the machine, but it printed out my tickets for The Last Jedi on the 14th as well, unprompted. I spoke to the manager about it, and he said it's easiest if I hold onto them instead of going through a stark process of having to reclaim them if I lose them (they don't want duplicate people entering the theater, mind you). I was considering refunding a few if I don't get three party members to tag along with me, so I don't know how easy that will be anymore.

Hard watch. I recently was coming out of a doctor's appointment and saw a WWII vet waiting for the valet to bring him and his assistant's car around. I went up to him to thank him as I do all vets when I see them. All he could say to me was, "I wish I could say 'the pleasure is mine, but I can't.'" The things some of these guys must've endured is unimaginable.

This guy got his hands on the UHD BD and gave a quick-snippet review. Reference all the way around. I expected nothing less.

Almost afraid to watch the blu-ray for fear of how loud this is going to get.

Interstellar was the scary one! Not because of loudness (but it was plenty loud in some scenes), rather that it hit the 20Hz range very loudly for long periods of time that I always think I'm going to burn my voice coil in my sub!

But yeah, I can't wait to hear the first wave of Messerschmitts fly over.
