I hope that's just a place holder logo because....That's pretty plain.

I'm sure the content will be superlative though.

Nice! The void left by Grantland still hasn't been adequately filled.

I'll be keeping an eye on this.

        The Ringer launched this week.

Instantly filled up my bathroom reading time.

The new website is hosted on Medium, which I've been reading/using for the last year or so. I was floored to see The Ringer native to the platform, a huge get for Medium and should be a happy marriage.

One of the first articles was on Joe Buck and it made me FEEEEEEL, man.

Wow...Just looked at the site. They've got a crap ton of content already.

EDIT: Damnit, they have a podcast right up my alley....Looks like that's podcast 180-something in my podfeed....

Simmons said they have another baseball writer coming and I'm hoping it's Keri so he can go back to doing strictly baseball podcasts.

So far it's awesome. Grantland had some great writers and it's cool to see a lot of them went with Simmons.

Anyone know if Zach Lowe or Bill Barnwell will be on there also? It's a shame having their great writing buried in ESPN's terrible website. I hope both of them are smarter than I am and never read the comments on their pieces.

Agreed 100% on Jonah Keri, have the same issue with Barnwell, I don't want to hear them talk about anything other than baseball/football respectively lol, I feel like Jonah doesn't talk about baseball at all on his from the looks I give it in the feed.

Also agree on hoping Lowe and Barnwell come back. ESPN really doesn't have a good way of finding actual articles that aren't ****ing videos and their site is a mess. Also Barnwell coming back would mean the return of the GOAT NFL podcast, the world needs him and May's to reunite.

Haven't gotten around to reading any articles, but I've been listening to the podcasts for a few weeks and they're pretty enjoyable.

Could be Ben Lindbergh since Keri started with SI not too long ago.

Barnwell just signed a new contract with ESPN so he's not leaving anytime soon.

It would be great if Lowe could come over so he can do podcasts with Simmons again, but besides that seems like ESPN is letting him do his thing

So much good stuff on The Ringer. It has rendered all my previous fill-in's irrelevant.

Been gravitating towards the tech articles a lot since most of the sports stuff so far has been outside of my main realm of NHL, NFL, and MLB.

How's everyone feel about The Ringer, now that howevermuchtimehaspassed has passed?

Personally, I think there's a noticeable change in quality of writing, but that's understandable I guess as he builds the talent back up. I like the baseball coverage (Baumann) and the MLB Show, I like the football coverage (Mays) and the NFL show, but the NBA writing leaves a lot to be desired IMO. Hard task going from Zach Lowe to basically anyone but that'll just take some getting used to. Some of the events (Next Thunder, Cleveland Week, etc) are alright. The Ringer NBA Show is just awful sometimes, who the hall are these people?

They got my favorite Shea Serrano back, and that's made a huge difference for me. I loved him on Grantland, followed him with his newsletter on his own, and now have been rewarded with his presence again on The Ringer. Reading the article about Denzel Washington and Chairs and im almost in tears, his style is so goofy but in a serious way it just cracks me up.

Definitely a lot more hot takes and fluff with The Ringer, but I think that's just the times we're in now. They have to make money, something Grantland didn't and didn't have to worry about... until it became the reason to pull the plug.

There's a lot more content, though shorter and subsequently of lesser quality. Still, it's been my go-to. They hit a lot of different areas and topics, so you can pick and choose and still have plenty to read back on when you're bored.

I don't think it has hit the mark that Grantland did, but my bathroom reading is a lot more enjoyable then it was in both site's absence so that tells you that while it can improve, it's doing what it's supposed to pretty well early in its life.
