Re: Kurt Russell
Tombstone, The Thing, Escape from NY, Escape from LA, Big Trouble Little China, and tons more. No wonder Kojima modeled Big Boss off him.Comment

Re: Kurt Russell
Yes...usually on board with Russell, but as I mentioned in the movie thread, his latest, Bone Tomahawk, I thought was a dog of a movie, but rates well on rotten tomatoes.
Tombstone has become iconic. A bit overdramatic in some scenes, but solid overall. I actually like Kilmer's performance in that movie over Russell.
Russell's dad was quite a character. You should watch his special about the minor league baseball team he started with Russell playing on it I believe. The Battered Bastards of Baseball on Netflix.Comment

Do this today: Instead of $%*#!@& on a game you're not going to play or movie you're not going to watch, say something good about a piece of media you're excited about.
Do the same thing tomorrow. And the next. Now do it forever.Comment

Re: Kurt Russell
Sheesh, I saw this topic and thought it was going to be a R.I.P. thread. Kurt Russell has always been a very versatile actor. Let's not forget that he got his start doing Disney movies as a teen actor. A lot of his really good films have been mentioned but i'll mention a couple underrated flicks IMO.
Breakdown and Dark Blue, both films are modest in budget but have pretty compelling stories IMO. The first flick being an homage in a lot of ways to those 1970s thrillers where you have a single protagonist trying to save himself or someone else. It's pretty well done. The latter film has a plot point that involves the LA Riots of 1991 and Russell is a corrupt cop who evolves over time to see that his methods of upholding the law was all wrong.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

Breakdown has to be in my top three of movies he's done. It was awesome

First thing that came to me was Tombstone. Russell was a great Wyatt Earl, but you're right: Kilmer's Doc Holliday was the best.NHL - Philadelphia Flyers
NFL - Buffalo Bills
MLB - Cincinnati Reds

Re: Kurt Russell
Tombstone is my favorite movie he's done by far and one of my favorite westerns. Agree that Kilmer killed it as Holiday and was my favorite character in the movie but Russell was a really good Wyatt Earp. Big Trouble in Little China is also one of my favorites from Russell. Backdraft, Dark Blue, Stargate so many films that he's done I've liked.
Glad this is a who likes Kurt Russell topic, when I saw his name I assumed the worse, glad I was wrong.Last edited by Sinner; 11-01-2015, 09:23 AM.-= Never argue with an idiot, they drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.=- Edward MurphyComment
