Online Poker
Does anyone know of a good place to play online poker for play money? Specifically, I want a place that does multi-table tournaments. Pokerroom and Victoria Poker did great play money tournaments but it seems like all the sites I used to know 5 years ago are no longer around.Follow me for live wrestling tweets @molarmiteTags: None -

I don't play online like I used to, but PokerStars was always my favorite. It's pretty streamlined and the table is easy to navigate. That was always the most advertised when I had enough free time to watch the WSOP. Seems most of these companies have also made their way into the mobile scene. -

Originally posted by wikipediaOn July 31, 2012, the US government dismissed with prejudice all civil complaints against PokerStars and Full Tilt Poker after reaching a settlement with PokerStars which includes PokerStars purchasing Full Tilt. Under the terms of the settlement, PokerStars and Full Tilt Poker admitted no wrongdoing for their past U.S. activities. The U.S. Government acknowledged both companies can apply for licenses to operate online gaming in the U.S. when a legal framework for such licenses is offered. The settlement terms also called for PokerStars to acquire certain assets of Full Tilt Poker from the Government.
On August 9, 2012, PokerStars paid $225 million to the U.S. Department of Justice, consummating the asset transfer of Full Tilt Poker. Full Tilt Poker was successfully relaunched on November 6, 2012.Comment

Re: Online Poker
I always thought certain states allowed it like New Jersey.
I'm not really good enough to play for money unless it's spare change with friends for fun, but if people want another outlet to pour taxable money into I'm all for it.Last edited by AUChase; 11-16-2015, 08:36 PM.Comment

Re: Online Poker
As I mentioned, each state determines whether you can play online poker in their state. In NJ you can. In NY you cannot. In CT you cannot. If you go to any online poker site, or google it, they will show you a map of the US with which states currently allow it.
It is not banned across the board. It is state regulated.Comment

Re: Online Poker
You mean whether it's legal or not, right? Not whether you can actually do it? I'm asking, I don't really know anybody who plays online poker in Louisiana, but I know more than a handful that bet through and get paid by Bovada. Last time I checked sports betting is illegal in Louisiana, but people are still doing it.Comment
