The Man in the High Castle (Amazon Prime)

Based on Philip K. Dick's award-winning novel and adapted by Frank Spotniz, The Man in the High Castle explores what it would be like if the Allied Powers had lost WWII, and Japan and Germany ruled the United States. Starring Rufus Sewell (John Adams), Luke Kleintank (Pretty Little Liars) and Alexa Davalos (Mob City). Executive produced by Ridley Scott (Blade Runner).

Anybody checking this out? First heard about it early in the year when the Pilot dropped but didn't want to wait 10 months between episodes. There's been a lot of ads running recently for it. Premise sounds interesting.

I'm really excited to watch this; just waiting for my girlfriend to come home from Malaysia (she has Amazon Prime). Not sure I 100% understand the premise of the show, but it looks really interesting.

It's set in 1962 America years after the Axis powers won WW II. President Roosevelt DID NOT survive being assassinated in 1933, Hitler is still alive, and the A-Bomb landed in Washington DC.

The part with the film reel that shows the US winning the war. I'm not looking for any spoilers on what exactly happens regarding this, but I'm curious to see how exactly this show works out because it seems like a really strange concept, but interesting concept.

elaborate productions or something beyond that in a "Twilight Zone" fashion?

They keep saying Season 1 so I assume there will be a season 2.

Caught a few of these promos before watching The Wire.

It has my attention and I'll definitely check this out as the plot is pretty interesting.

Quite an ending to season 1. It certainly puts a "most likely" label on the nature of those films, and has me impatient for season 2.

What a compelling figure John Smith is. Playing a ruthless high ranking Nazi living in the US, you suddenly see him with his family, and you realize the "American" dream is available to him, and you see a good man. No you can't reconcile Nazi and "good man", but there is deep regret from his past deeds, and this is an alternate history, so his role in those atrocities is not clearly defined.

The show does a great job of presenting American culture (minus rock and roll) under the watchful eye of Nazi/Japenese oppression.

With the whacked out premise......did they add in that the Cubs won a World Series sometime in those 20+ years?....or would that be just a bit TOO far fetched?

Only watched through episode 5, but I doubt there is baseball except in Japanese states, Nazi's probably banned it, too American.
