It seems silly for Jon to lose now, especially after hammering home how undermanned he is in the fight. There has to be a swerve next Sunday.Comment

Re: Game of Thrones: Season 6
LOL.
So okay. Arya was training to become a faceless man. She was reprepanded once for killing Meran Trant, warned and chastised for not killing the actress. Has a contract put on her by Jaquen and is gut stabbed by the waif.
She kills the waif goes back to Jaquen AFTER he put a hit out on her and not only tells him where she will be but doesn't put needle in his heart....? WTF.
I get the part where waif said the red god requires one more and I suppose I could believe that putting Waif up there in place of her "takes her off the hook" but do you really want to leave Jaquen alive.
Unrelated did she really learn any discernible "assassin skills" during her training? AKA can she change faces at will now?
Unrelated, but I know HBO and GoT has a budget and all, but they could've done so much more with the "siege of Mereen", so much more we didn't get a single shot of a dragon burning ships in the harbor at all.....Missed opportunity. None, the less I am super excited for the "Bastard Bowl" next week.

Re: Game of Thrones: Season 6
Good stuff as usual. Some thoughts:
SpoilerArya. How in the hell was she in as good of condition as she was after last week? Why make the stabbing so damn brutal if they treat it like a little scratch? I don't usually get bugged by things but that had me going wtf? Regardless I'm glad the Waif is no more and Arya is going back to Westeros with some decent fighting skills.
The Mountain ripping off heads was cool. Cersi losing her bargaining chip for her trial threw me off. I have no idea where this storyline is going now. Seems a bit stagnate. Still hate the Sparrows.
The Hound thinking of joining The Brotherhood had me excited. Glad to see the Red Priest and Beric still going strong. Also glad it wasn't the Brotherhood who did last weeks killings and just some rogues of their group. While I can't really see how it fits in still hoping for a LS appearance.
Bummed more didn't happen with Blackfish. I've enjoyed his character in the books and show. Was hoping he'd go and help lead Jon's army when Edmure tucked tail and sold him out. We didn't even get to see him fight. Oh well.
Dany is back and even though they didn't show it here's hoping Drogon laid waste to the slaver ships and we can get things moving again.
Can not freaking wait for the next two episodes. 1 hour is just not enough. I could easily sit down and watch a whole season in one sitting if I could block out adult stuff for a day lol.Last edited by tdawg3782; 06-13-2016, 01:57 AM.Comment

Re: Game of Thrones: Season 6
This show, man...
With modern medicine, Arya would likely need hours of surgery, possibly a blood transfusion, many many stitches and weeks to recuperate after being stabbed like that. With medieval-ish era medicine, she's dead. In this show, she's jumping from 15 foot heights, running from that T-1000 Waif and showing very few ill effects until the very very end. That milk of the poppy is a helluva drug. That's not to mention other "wtf" parts of that story line. The fan theories were much better.
The Riverrun scenes were cool. Fairly faithful to how the situation was resolved in the books with a few small exceptions. Didn't appreciate an off screen kill of Blackfish but whatever. As for Brienne, after she failed to convince the Blackfish to turn north, she sent for a maester so she could get a letter to Sansa. She doesn't even know where Sansa is. You don't just put a scroll on a raven's leg and whisper in it's ear, "Find Sansa and give her this." That was baffling to me. At least Jaime's development is back on track. Pod taking Brienne on a slow, moonlight boat ride was funny.
King's Landing was interesting. I wasn't expecting the no trial by combat stipulation but I'm good with it. **** Cersei and unGregor. #teamHighSparrowfornow, #teamsmallfolkforever
The "grave digger" is now just the Hound again. So much for character development. I wasn't really feeling that scene, although I did feel like they still could be kind of teasingSpoilerLady Stoneheart
Why'd they have another time wasting scene with Tyrion and them? Did we really need that scene with them sitting around drinking and telling terrible jokes? There were no other storylines that were more interesting that could have used that time? Then Dany swoops in like friggin Superman...lol, okay man. Maybe something will finally happen in Mereen. Hopefully she doesn't give another rousing speech.
I thought it was a pretty meh episode as whole. Came away more angry and confused than anything, and not in a good way. The Winds of Winter really can't get here fast enough.Last edited by trobinson97; 06-13-2016, 04:20 AM.PS: You guys are great.

Last three episodes were meh for me. Hoping for some fireworks to round out the season.
Hopefully Tommen meets his end soon. I've had enough of his no spine having self.Comment

Re: Game of Thrones: Season 6
That was a really frustrating episode, I don't think I have ever said that about this show before, but last few episodes have been a bit below the usual high expectation this show has set for itself!....Comment

Tommen is such a ***** of a char that I'm guessing that witches predictions to Cersei finally come true and he dies somehow. He would be the third child right? Man I can't stand him and his lack of a backbone.Comment

Re: Game of Thrones: Season 6
You have to wonder if Cersi played her hand to early with the Mountain re-incarnate, which is why trial by combat is now outlawed.....Time for her to cut bait and run to Casterly Rock.

Re: Game of Thrones: Season 6
The whole Arya scene storyline was just bizarre to say the least. Nothing really made sense in the end. She had to have been near death after the stabbing, the 3 mile extreme endurance run with the liquid android chasing her. And the darkness battle. I doubt the android just let her poke her eyes out. Then she goes to the temple and points her little sword at the weirdo and skips away. What did this all really do. It seems like anything else could have have prompted her to want to go back to Westeros and proclaim her name. Waste of time.
Then you have basically a scene from the muppet show where 3 people sit around telling useless jokes.
Newsflash there are only 15 episodes left and they wasted hours on a worthless Arya plotline and waste valuable minutes each episode with worthless banter between the dwarf and the unsullied. Yet they only take 2 seconds to show the return of Danyreas coming back on a dragon. I am pretty sure that was a pivotal moment.
The only thing really worthwhile about this episode was Cercei tipping her hand too soon. Choosing violence was her ace in the hole and now it's gone she could be cooked but I have a feeling that Jamie is coming back with the army.
What a waste of the black fish. All this hype and he go down without a whimper.
I'm not sure if the directing is horrible or the writing is bad.
This is starting to look like Martin was watching Lost and thought the ending stunk so he was going to write a better version with swords and magic. It's on the verge of turning into a convoluted mess.Chalepa Ta Kala.....Comment
