Re: Better Call Saul (Season 2)

I noticed on Monday night's episode that they did one of Breaking Bad's signature time lapse scenic transitions. It gave me such a nostalgic feeling reflecting back on Walter White's story! It actually made me feel like I was watching Breaking Bad.

Now it could just be my memory not serving me right, but wasn't that the first time they used the Breaking Bad time lapse scene transition in Better Call Saul? Its the first time I've noticed it.

Yea, I think they have used it a few times. Loving the way this season has been going, especially since they dont just focus on just Jimmy or Mike, but we see Kim, and even Nachos story progress too.

Yeah, there is some really strong character building going on in this show right now. I have high hopes for Nacho's story progression, because I have been a big fan of Michael Mando, the actor who plays him since he played the villain in Far Cry 3.

I wonder if we'll see more of Gonzo and No-Doze working with Nacho now that Tuco is locked up.

My theory is that Nacho gets too big for his breeches and Krazy-8 and Emilio (who has yet to make an appearance, but he HAS to eventually) take him out. Maybe not this season, but by the end of season 3 or so. We already know that Tuco will not be back on this show as he *just* gets out of prison at the end of season one of BB. We also know that Nacho isn't going to make it since he didn't make it to BB so I'm just doing the math and connecting the dots.

Maybe they'll have a scene or two with Tuco locked up, which would open the door for a Skinny Pete appearance since it was mentioned in BB that they were in the slammer together.

In any event, I'm sure Gilligan and co. will connect the dots just fine.

And there we have Marco and Leonel. This show keeps getting better and better.

What they are doing with Mike is awesome, and Kim went all Jimmy on that engineer was fun to see. Was thinking when Mike asked for that 50k to claim the gun, could of had it if he went with Nachos plan of killing Tuco, funny how things turn out.

Kim Wexler is an awesome character. Some people have been down on the last two episodes because it has been "The Kim Show" but I have enjoyed them immensely. We can see how much Jimmy cares about her and I think the dissolution of their relationship (be it something sinister happening to her, or just Jimmy ****ing up to the point of no return) will be the final straw that makes Jimmy turn into Saul.

How many people are gonna put carbon paper under their welcome mats now when they're gone for the day if they are worried about anything going on at their house.... Jonathan Banks plays Mike Ermantrout so good... That it's so hard for me to believe Walter White really would of got the drop on him... The only reason I can see it unfolding the way it did was due to Mike's age at the time and being distracted by his granddaughter.

I think Mike underestimated Walter and didn't gauge what he truly had become. He also didn't give him enough credit for ending Gus. "Just Because you shot Jesse James, don't make you Jesse James".

Kim is coming into her own as a great character.

This show is amazing and it sickens how much it is flying under the radar.

Is it flying under the radar? The ratings are good and it's been renewed for season 3.

What sickens me is there are only three episodes left. I wish they'd go from ten to thirteen.

Kim's got it. She's clearly a huge asset to the show.

3 episodes? Man I knew I was wrong in thinking this was a 13 episode season. Didnt see a lot of Mike, but we saw where things were heading. Didnt see Kim at all thinking about joining up with Jimmy.

I didn't see that either. When she was up high smoking the cigarette and tearing Jimmy's Kim-Jimmy business card in half, I didn't know what she was doing. Very clever.

This show has a special kind of suspense. Trying to piece together how things go wrong or right (guess it depends on perspective) is fascinating to me.

I have no idea how this "partnership" is going to go. I just know it won't go far. But what ends it? Who ends it? Does it even happen?

I know Kim wasn't even an idea when Breaking Bad was around but clearly Gilligan and Gould are aware that Kim is absent from Jimmy's life. What happens to her? I'm so much more interested in that.

I can see Chuck either dying from age or completely abandoning his brother. It's in his nature.

But what could drive Kim so far away from someone she was willing to work with in some capacity?
"It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

"You'll not find more penny-wise/pound-foolish behavior than in Major League Baseball." - Rob Neyer

Criminal activity- beyond manufacturing evidence (the weird tape with the Hummer guy) and just being colorful. Remember Saul is laundering drug money for Walt at the Breaking Bad stage, so he fell pretty fast and pretty hard.
