    Robot vacuum cleaners?

Anybody own one? Already looking into what 2016 brings us with technology (thanks, CES) and although I'm not sure if these were on the floor, I figure with possible Smartphone connectivity, etc. these have probably hit harder in the last year or so. Instead of being erratic messes, I assume some are smarter.

That being said, more hands-on impressions would be nice regarding how well they actually perform, especially if it's something that you can run while at work. Does anybody have any experiences with them?

I have a Neato one. They don't do random paths and actually map the room. It is good and if you use it everyday it will keep you from vacuuming a lot. You probably still need to vacuum every once in a while, but it does a good job. Neato has a real vacuum motor so it actually pick stuff up.

The only issue I have is you can't leave things out on the floor and if you have any cables/etc on the floor, you really need to move them. They have stuff to block paths, but the older models is just a magnetic strip. Because of that, I don't use it like I would like too.

Seems more trouble than it is worth. I'd rather pull out the vacuum and be done with it.

I tried a roomba years ago and this was the case for me....too many obstructions to it getting the whole room clean. They may be better now, but I'd rather put more money into a regular vacuum that's expensive but does a better job.

Robot Vacuums are neat but it doesnt totally replace vacuuming. It just cuts down on how much vacuuming you need. Great however if you got pets.
