    RIP Paul Kantner

And the terrible start to 2016 continues...

Paul Kantner of Jefferson Airplane has passed away at 74 as the result of a heart attack and multiple organ failure.

    RIP Paul

Man, the musical hits keep on coming. Aside from White Rabbit, the main song I associate with Jefferson Airplane is "Somebody to Love".

I saw Starship in 83 at the State Fair. By this time, they were mostly a club band. I can remember about 1000 people at the main grandstand, if that.

This is a different Starship, but still with Kanter and Slick on vocals. I used to love this song and haven't heard it in awhile. The song Find Your Way Back was on the same album.

By the time Kanter left the band, they became a top 40 band with supposedly the worse song award We Built This City.

Yes...post Kantner Starship was dreadful. It felt like a flat out sell out of JA to the 80's MTV generation. Ashame so many big names went that way. Clearly, Kantner had a huge influence on the band's sound in the 70's.

And 2 days later, another Jefferson Airplane member dies.

Yeah, the legend/celeb deaths are going to accelerate I think in the coming months/years, since all the Baby Boomer icons are unfortunately getting to that stage of life...but RIP.
