    So Sony has greenlit a Venom movie. Written by Dante Harper. And it will stand on it's own.

          Good. Venom has always been cooler than Spider-Man for me. Hopefully they don't make him some teenage zit machine. He should be an *******, who becomes more of an ******* when he gets his power.

          Since he's the lead, they'll make him the hero. Which can fall right on its face really easily.

                      I've found Spiderman villains to be more interesting than the heroes. Carnage and Venom were pretty terrifying when I was younger... It could work as an R rated movie more on the horror side.

                                  the only thing i can think they're doing is going with Flash Thompson as Agent Venom. Or the horror route...but i don't see them making it work without any reference to Spider-man if they use Brock

                                      Yeah, this seems ill-advised without anchoring it in the Spider-Man reboot first.

                                      Maybe if Venom didn't look at all like Spider-Man it would be different, lol. But yeah, could do a Flash Thompson Venom, would be a bit less of a horror movie and a lot more traditional. It also gives them an 'adult' Spider-Man movie while the rebooted character is much younger.
