Re: 2016-2017 TV Season
Anyone happen to catch the "OJ Made in America" specials that ABC/ESPN are airing? It's a 5 part series, part 1 aired today.
I believe it's all real life clips that happened.
But for those who did see it, how does it compare to the FX series from a few months back? I know the FX one was basically like a "based on a true story" re-telling of the events, compared to the ABC/ESPN one which is real life clips, but outside of that, I know nothing else about how this new ones compares to the FX one.Comment

To me though, I didn't really want that to the degree that they gave it. I prefer the documentary route the 30 for 30 took. I just watched the last 3 episodes last night and it's incredible. It's about 7+ hours and features interviews from many of the people involved in OJ's whole life (from friends, to Nicole's family, to Marcia Clark and many members of both the defense and prosecution teams) and honestly it's just amazing to get the perspective of the whole thing. The way it tells you the story of not only OJ and the way he wanted to portray himself, but the way it reflected on the country as a whole in the Civil Rights movement when he was growing up and then again in the 90's with the racial division in LA at the time is great. I can't say enough good things about this to be honest I could go on forever lol. I'll just say if you want to learn about not only the trial but the climate in the country (with the way news covered it, the way it took over because it was a celebrity case, not to mention the racial elements), then this is the one you need to watch. And it even goes into his life after the trial, which is even more bizarre. Can't recommend it enough.Originally posted by G PericoIf I ain't got it, then I gotta take it

Watched it last night. It was slow going for a while but it kept my attention. I'll watch next week. The guy that plays Cam could be Ryan Eggold's brother (Tom Keen from The Blacklist). I thought it was him at first sight.Comment

I think that horse racing series "Luck"? with Hoffman was renewed for a second season and then quickly canceled because of the several issues that series had."It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace
