Well, it DID allow for more substantial screen time...

That being said, it's an unusual show in that the characters, performances and styling keep things interesting enough, even when the writing doesn't hold up...

Season 7 has been really good so far, aside from the Louis love life stuff. Excited to see Mike work without the anchor.

Agree, but I've only seen the first episode.

I've also only seen the first episode and I wasn't a big fan of it. Granted, I think episode 2 will be better; I didn't really like the flow of episode 1 that much.

Through E6 and I'm just happy the people around Mike have stopped coddling him and his terrible decision making skills.

Didn't read any comments because I'm actually saving up the shows to watch at the beginning of September. I've still only watched the first episode.

Enjoyed the season although Harvey and the psychologist was a drag no matter where they went with it.

Hard to imagine them getting to a season 8 without Mike and Rachel. There will still be the winter half of season 7 to go (six episodes).

                7 The last?

                Don't go...

There's no show without Mike and Rachel.

What a burden to carry. Wanting to move on with your life but knowing the whole show dies (not just front facing talent. production, writers, cameramen, etc.) without you. Man.

Although I love Rachel the big loss is Mike because of his ability.

The show is far from dead, however. Yesterday it was renewed for an eighth season and today they hired Katherine Heigl as a series regular.

The final six Rachel-Mike episodes to conclude season seven will begin March 28. Heigl won't be in any of those unless they bring her in at the end just to set her up for next season.

The Gina Torres Suits spin-off is still murky.
