Re: Blair Witch
Niiiice. Sign me up. That's interesting me I had heard there was a moving coming out called "The Woods" that is really scary
I was 13 when the original came out and I was a naive kid who believed everything I read and heard. I actually thought it was real, as dumb as that may sound. I remember seeing it with my mom and grandma. I had a hard time sleeping that night it scared me badly.Last edited by The JareBear; 07-22-2016, 11:49 PM."Successful people do not celebrate in the adversity or misfortune of others."

Re: Blair Witch
The first one is the greatest theater experience of my life. We watched the SciFi special the night before, as I think everyone did. I remember reading the lore on the net for months before release. The tension of the sold out theater was unbelievable. Everyone walked out in shock. Won't ever be beat.Comment

Re: Blair Witch
Watched it for the first time this winter, actually. Thought it was awful. Really missed out on the theater experience.
I've been meaning to give it a rewatch recently, knowing what I'm getting myself into, so this might be a good reason to.
I do think this one looks at least twice as good as I remember the first one being.Comment

Otherwise it does not work.
I was in my late 20's and bought into it all and we loved it for what it was. I will one day show my son (who is a horror maven already at 11 years old) the fake docudrama and show him the film and lead him to believe it is real until after he watches it. Then I will explain it was all fiction. When you watch it totally green and unspoiled you get the brilliance of how this all came to be.
Without all that...it's a lousy film.Now Playing on PS5:

We had watched all the pre-movie stuff. The producers did a great job making it look like it was real.
It definitely helped create a very palpable environment by the time we got into the theatre.
I loved the movie and really loved the ending.
Looking forward to this sequel.Comment

Re: Blair Witch
Watched Blair Witch last night and enjoyed it.
It's definitely in line with the original and revealed that a long-standing fan theory was correct.
Spoiler
The thought was that the Witch was capable of manipulating time.
That's how a tape of the original 3 was found in the structure of a building that was built before they were born.
In the sequel, the two weirdo's (Lane, Talia) ran off from the group, only to resurface later in the evening, looking worn and disheveled. Lane has a thicker beard and swears it's been 5 or 6 days since they last saw the group.
And then in the end, we see Lisa videotape herself in a mirror within the house, which was something we saw earlier in the film when James was reviewing a video that surfaced within the woods.
I believe there isn't a witch, but this is the work of aliens.
We see a tall 'slenderman' of sorts several times in the film and near the end, when James and Lisa are barricaded upstairs, a flash of bright light explodes outside the home, lighting up the attic.
Considering children are involved, I think aliens are abducting children for experiments, or who knows what.
In a way, I wish they hadn't shown the slenderman-thingy.
IMO, you either reveal everything that's going on, or you keep it as ambiguous as possible.
While I enjoyed the film, and felt it was a perfect compliment to the first, I'm not exactly on pins and needles waiting for a sequel.
But if there is a sequel to this, I hope they wrap it up and provide the full answers.
