    Re: Marvel's Luke Cage

I've watched 2 episodes so far of season 2. I'm liking Bushmaster, but we haven't seen him do much yet. But his demeanor and attitude are way better than Diamondback. And I do agree on the first few episodes being boring. The first season felt the same way, boring episodes until it got better.

It's actually sort of strange because the same day i started season 2 of Luke Cage, i also started Black Lighting. I did not expect that show to be as good as it is. It feels a lot like Luke Cage, actually it might actually be better. I'm already 7 episodes in, and i started it after i watched the first episode of Luke Cage season 2. They share a lot of similarities with inner city violence and black youth etc etc, Luke Cage definitely has a bigger budget and you can see it.

How long now till Bushman get's going and the season picks up? Again, i'm 2 episodes in.

Side note: I like Mike Colter, he was in The Following for a bit and Halo 5:Guardians, but boy, he has no range. He's fine with just pure action, but when it comes to being emotional, at least going as far back as season 1, he's not very convincing.

      Re: Marvel's Luke Cage

I've been reading a lot of people online saying the first 3-4 episodes were slow, and others telling them it picks up right after that. A character who seemed to be annoying a lot of people with her constant complaining leaves after that if that makes a difference. The last few episodes really are the best, one of the best stretch of episodes of any of the shows for me but I like this show a lot so I'm biased. I also just binged most of the episodes straight through so by the time I had stopped, it was great and I needed to see the rest.

I do want to check out Black Lightning.

Definitely agree about Bushmaster's deameanor. I love his revenge story. It's small scale, but that works for TV and the performance is solid. I felt he was badass enough, especially his fighting style.

I'm really not sure about Colter. He is just very robotic at times, it doesn't stand out too often. I do think he has great chemistry with Misty and Iron Fist. He's got a corny dad thing to him.

Should I watch The Defenders before starting season 2? I haven't watched Iron Fist or Jessica Jones.

I'd say Yes. Season 2 is a bit more connected with the other shows and there are a couple of things that happen in Defenders. I'd say watch defenders first it's only 7 episodes.

But if you haven't watched Iron fist or Jessica Jones yet then just skip it and watch Luke Cage season 2.

Im sure theres a YouTube recap of The Defenders in 5 minutes or something out there. I'd find one of those and jump in. Iron Fist and Jessica Jones aren't necessary. Only reason I say the recap of the Defenders is if I'm remembering right, you're going to be confused what happened to Misty without seeing it.

Just now realized Commanche is former NFL running back Thomas Jones.

What is weird is he is 5'10, Theo Rossi is 5'11 but yet he looked so much bigger then Theo.

Really, really enjoyed this season aside from how they set things up for a next season. That was so off-putting I'd kinda be OK if this was the final season.

I think it certainly sets up an intriguing story to tell. But I'd love to just get a Power Man and Iron Fist show. Combine the two if they're going to keep up with 13 eps.

Man Alfre Woodard was awesome in this.

Lots of great performances actually. Loved season 2 much more than season 1.

This 2nd season is truly "lit" i'm so glad I kept at it. It started off really subpar and slow but once it picked up it got reallly good. I'm currently watching the last episode now. I'm really liking where the series is heading, beyond the slow start this may sit higher than Daredevil season 2 for me.
