I use TiVo with my cable subscription. If I cut this cord, I need a delivery device that is as easy and full featured as TiVo. PS Vue loses out because of the 28 day cloud DVR, and the lack of real local channels.

Also, my wife is addicted to Tivo's commercial skip button. It's pretty damn amazing, and works on 90% of what we watch. Hit the green button and it instant jumps pass the commercial break.

I'm paying for a better viewing experience. Cheaper is not automatically better.

And "better viewing experience" is very subjective . Cord cutting works for some and doesn't for others. Options are a good thing .

      Re: Cord cutting

YouTube TV just went live in my area and is the first streaming service to have all ABC, CBS, FOX, and NBC stream live TV! The rest of the channel selection is weak though. No TNT, NFL Network, or NBA TV. I just need one service that has those 7 channels and I'd be set...but only DirecTV and Cable still offer all of those, so alas I'm still stuck with DirecTV.

        ps vue is still great.
They have cbs and nbc live local channels. Plus they have all the sports channels. its all I need.

would like to see them get NHL network and FOX local. But other than that its still blows anything else out of the water for me.

In fact I just finished patching all the holes ditrect Tv made when they installed in my house 9 years ago. Bunch of slackers that work for that company

We're moving and they got my cable/internet/phone bill to 120...just have to keep on them to lower once it goes up....that's with DVR and 2 separate boxes that can access dvr footage.....just doesn't make sense to switch quite yet, especially when that'd make me start worrying about bandwidth issues on the internet.

            Re: Cord cutting

I recently cut the cord and turned off my Comcast cable.
My bill the last month I had Comcast was $216 for cable wifi and a home phone.
I am now paying $79 a month for wife and $44 for Playstation Vue.
So far I have loved Vue.
Has anyone on here tried YOUTUBE TV yet?

              One more question.
              For those with the Vue.
Are you running it through your PS4 or a firestick??
Running it through the PS4 and it doesn't always stream the best.
Wondering how it does on a firestick.
My Netflix which runs right through my smart TV stream perfectly.

I would do the Fire tv. Runs really good on that. I had problems with the fire stick.

Running mine through my TV mostly, but sometimes on the FireStick. Some menu lag problems with both, but no picture issues.

Wow! I am really liking Vue so far.
It runs smooth and in a really sharp HD, unlike Directv now.
For $44 a month I am getting every channel I like.
Couldn't be happier. I went from paying $215 a month for Cable/Wifi with Comcast.
To now paying $112 a month.

                            Re: Cord cutting

I tried PS Vue and thought it was great on the PS4 but only average on my Roku which is in the room where I primarily watch TV. I also didn't like that I couldn't watch shows right after they aired (for example, we usually watch Big Brother an hour or two after it airs but it wasn't available to watch last Thursday when I wanted to watch it).

I ended up calling DirectTV and threating to cancel so they knocked $70 off of my monthly bill. With that said it had gotten to an outrageous $200/month with all movie channels, my main box, and 5 genies. I am returning one genie as a part of the discount, so going forward I will have the XTRA package and all movie channels for around $125-130/month.

I have DirecTVNow, and I've had zero problems. 100+ channels, and HBO, for a whopping $34.99/Mo.

Got the same deal along with an apple tv. Enjoying it after 2 months of spotty service at the start.
