          Saw this today, excellent movie.

          I will say just reading a little bit about to real story, I'm a little surprised at some of the liberties taken with certain aspects of the story and then certain things that were left out that actually happened, presumably because they don't seem believable.

          Regardless, I'm not a huge war movie buff but this was one of the better ones I've seen.

              Didn't know there was a thread. I had recently commented about it in the "What movies have you seen recently?" thread.

              This is a very American true story about the first conscientious objector to receive the highest military honor (Medal Of Honor) and surprisingly 90% of the cast is Australian-of course that might be a reflection of director Mel Gibson having grown up in the US and Australia.
              I'd add that there are some very graphic war scenes.

                      I watched this movie a few weeks ago and watched it again last night with my dad and just love it. For me it is one of my favorite WW2 movies.

                      I was shocked when Vince Vaughn appeared in the movie but he did a good job in this serious role.
