    Pitch (TV Series)

    Anyone watching this show?
I didn't even know it existed until a few days ago.
The wife and I tuned into Ep4 last night and both really liked it. There is a tonne of baseball content in this program too, so it's not all about the drama surrounding MLB's first female pitcher.

Mark-Paul Gosselaar (Zach Morris) plays an aging, 36-YO catcher for the Padres.
He's nailing Ali Larter, who's an agent I think.

They have MLB's permission to use their logos, teams, players, etc.
We heard the ratings were really poor so it may not last long.
But from the one episode we saw last night, we both really liked it.

I have and it's really good. You need to see the 1st episode. Ending has a shocker.

Not surprised at the ratings for this.

Soon as I seen the trailer for this, I said to myself "Yeahhh, nobody is going to give this a chance and this won't last more than a year".

Hopefully the ratings pick up for this this week, WS games everyday this week from 8-11ish except Thursday where people tuning in will get a baseball show instead, maybe some people will stay.

Still really enjoying this show. I'm still surprised (pleasantly) that there is so much baseball talk in each episode.
It's like the plot of the first female MLBer is a side note. The show, to me at least, is more about the team and life in the majors from executives to players to agents, than Ginny.
And MPG totally nails his role as the aged catcher. I loved the last episode which gave us some backstory into his life.

It kind of reminds me of a PG-13 rated version of Ballers, only with baseball.

Season finale was great last night.
I had no interest in this show when it was first advertised. I (incorrectly) assumed that because it centered around a female pitcher, it was going to be some 'Disney-esque' fluff-piece.
            Boy was I wrong.

This is a great program about baseball and those involved in the game.

MPG is great as the old catcher and captain of his team.
Even the coaches, GM and other players, and their wives are great.

            I really hope it's picked-up for Season 2.

I haven't watched this and want to now. Hopefully it is On Demand.

I've got the last 6 episodes still to watch....Plan on doing so when I have time. They need to get this off of Thursdays. Finale did well.

Fox’s Pitch wrapped its rookie season on Thursday night with 2.9 million total viewers and a 0.8 demo rating, rising 20 percent and a tenth week-to-week to mark its best numbers since Oct. 27 and Nov. 3, respectively. TVLine readers gave the finale an average grade of “A.”

To be honest, they're not good.
FOX has high hopes for their new Pitch TV series but they've scheduled it on Thursday nights, a highly competitive night for network television. Can it

As you can see, the ratings have slowly gotten worse each week until the Finale, which saw a slight uptick.

I felt the series got better and better with each episode. Maybe because it seemed the focus of the show slowly transitioned from Ginny to Mike Lawson and the team.

(That's not a shot against the actress that portrays Ginny, she does a great job. But I feel the show is much stronger when the main character is baseball).

Honestly, I feel like a show like this which has the full backing and cooperation of MLB would be PERFECT to put on MLB-N during the offseason rather than cycling through reruns of movies and specials.

Just finished the season finale. Great stuff. They did such a great job at integrating the baseball action. It really feels like they are part of the league. Would absolutely hate to see this end after one season.

Disagree with this. Move this off the major networks and it will die a quick death.

May be a good idea to re-run the season on the MLB Network, after it's over.

I don't think a quick death is avoidable for this show anyway.
