I saw it last night. Pretty good way to kick off the Summer. I would put it right about even with the first one. Some improvements in the story and villain over the first movie, but some compromises too.

Overall a pretty fun movie even if when the final battle started to get a little tedious.

I enjoyed it. I'd put it a notch below the first one, but the first one is my favorite Marvel movie and second favorite superhero movie.

Finally saw it and feel like it was just...forgettable. Outside of Drax (who stole the show) everyone seemed generic.

What is with Marvel not being able to make a Villian that's worthwhile? I may be alone on this one but it definitely felt like they wasted Kurt Russel's talents.

Saw it and really liked it, also thought that it was a little over the top at times but still enjoyed it. Thought this one was funnier than the first but the first was a better over all movie. Drax killed it for me, the way he and Mantis were together had me rolling,

love Drax. Groot and Rocket along with Drax made the movie for me with Drax being my favorite.

Didn't like that Yondu died, dude was a beast with that arrow but did like the way things ended between him and Star-Lord.

Also felt that Kurts talents were a little wasted and yet another not so good villan

The Rocket and Yondu stuff were my favorite parts. I didn't expect them to take those two characters and give them the biggest emotional range of the film especially when it included Star-Lord's actual father.

67% metacritic, 82% RT.

I think this movie is way better than that and is better than many other Marvel efforts that were rated much higher. I honestly think people are getting sick of the Marvel "formula" (even though Guardians is perfect for it) and as a result, from here on out they will have to make damn near perfect movies in order to get decent ratings. People are ready to turn. I think either the superhero thing is going to be done for awhile after IW, or D.C. will get their turn in the spotlight.

You're not alone. That's a huge step up.

I think they keep rewriting themselves, though. Look at all of the directors they jumped through for Batman, because they're trying to stronghold a certain story arc now... but this was not present during BvS, nevermind Man of Steel.

For that matter, are the Suicide Squad protags supposed to appear as villains in future films, or how is that panning out? I know they're getting a sequel with those guys in it is all.

Some of them might.There's the Gotham City Sirens movie that will feature Harley.

The Rocket & Taserface scenes were the best.

Movie is now out on digital and will be on Blu-ray soon too.

Drax and Baby Groot are best characters in this series. Opening credit scene alone was funny. Too bad in the final credit scene.
