I'm extremely impressed with the quality of the service..the video and the amount of channels that you get. I'm not worried about no local channels or no dvr features...those will come in the future. I can watch live network tv via the USTVNOW app or via local antenna.
I also have PS Vue but will be cancelling that in two weeks. The main reason for me is no NHL network with Vue and I get that on DTV now. The pic quality for especially when it comes to live sports is much better with DTV now.
i used to like nhl network. i remember i had to get the most expensive package on direct tv to get it.
then i realized how bad it was. they got rid of my favorite series. thr nhl classic series. all they show is the same crap.

Another downside is DTV Now only allows 2 streams but it's not local restricted. PS Vue allows 5 streams but all have to be local.

        Re: Directv Now

I signed up for DTV Now and got the Fire Stick.

No complaints with the stream... fantastic quality.

I've had PS Vue for a bit now, but the stream quality wasn't always fantastic... partly maybe because I'm not hard wired and it doesn't pick up my 5ghz signal.

Anyway, for the cheaper price, and with gaining back MTV and Comedy Central, it's a win for me... for now.

Man, I really may try to get out of my DTV contract soon. The only problem I foresee with all these different streaming services is there's never going to be one that has every channel like cable or DTV. For example, I looked in my area for PS Vue and I get CBS and Fox live but only get ABC and NBC on demand. DTV Now has all live but doesn't offer CBS at all.

For those curious, here's a breakdown from CNET on which channels you get between the three services:

But, Cima, CBS All Access is only $5.99. I had to get that $35 deal, such a steal.

True; does CBS All Access give me Live TV? I guess my concern is still being able to watch Football on Sundays live on CBS.

Edit: Well I just went to DTVNow's page and I don't get ABC or NBC live here in Phoenix either. Bummer.

Can you pick up those channels with an HD antenna?

CBS streams 150 local markets. Worked for me in Des Moines yesterday and they just added NFL games. I would imagine Phoenix works just fine if DSM does.

They do a great job of pre, during, and post game coverage, they have several live games per week, not to mention CHL and AHL games. Most important thing for me though is the World Junior championships which starts every December 26th. That under 20 tournament is my favorite hockey of the year.

I've been testing left and right since I still have Vue and the games just look better on Directvnow. I also still had my Charter cable last week and the games on Directvnow looked better than that.

The issue for me with cutting the cord has always been local sports, i.e. Cavs and Indians. With Fox Sports Ohio (and I assume Sportstime Ohio) available on Directv Now, I'm seriously considering dropping my TWC cable, especially since they're supposedly increasing the bill by $20/month (my mom's already went up).
Hopefully, they'll get the DVR service sooner than later.

I will say the stream quality is much better on DTV Now vs PS Vue... it's not even close.

the no dvr kills it for me though. Imiss the start of at least half the NHL games. I would def need a DVR

I agree..if It had a DVR feature I would definitely consider it. DVR is an important feature for me and my family. I don't like to set and revolve my schedule and life around when a show is on.

Plus with Comcast capping my internet, streaming TV doesn't really work for me right now.
