    panasonic plasma Tv question

    I have a 2010 50 plasma tv.

Thing still has the best pic I say. But I have a question.
I noticed in the pic settings, the sharpness setting was a 0.

I mean this was the first time I even looked at the settings since it was calibrated.

So I was playing NHL 17 and for the hell of it I put the sharpness setting to 100. I gotta tell you. It looks so much better.

Is there a downside for having it at 100?? And why was it at 0???

    You like what you like.

Any professional calibration or setting on the internet for a plasma TV and most other TVs are going to be at or around 0. Having it at 0 makes it so no artificial sharpening occurs and we are seeing the image as the makers intended. There is no downside as far as harming the TV.

Did you like it at 100 for movies too?

Sharpness setting brings in a lot of artificial edge enhancement which actually can hide the detail in most content. You like what you like so go with it.
