That actually had more of a Marvel "feel" to the movie. Also had a slight Thor/Loki vibe of sorts. DC with this and WW might finally be getting to the same plane as Marvel.

WW was good like man of steel but still a very flawed movie the rest of the dc movies after dark knight trilogy have sucked big time. This surprisingly looks like it could be good after watching the trailer.

Gotta say I like the epic scale of Atlantis as portrayed in the trailer/movie. It looks AMAZING. There is definitely something bigger at play with it being a royal feud between brothers. It also seems to sprinkle some humor in it as well. I only have one misgiving in that Aquaman has the look and feel of the wretched one armed Aquaman of the '90s but this was probably the right way to go.

I gotta say with Shazam, The WW movies and this that DC/WB may very well close the gap on Marvel. Major points have to go to them for making it as comic book source heavy as it has as I think the Marvel films have gone way too far into the dark nihilistic style of the Ultimate line from 2000-2015 rather than embracing the core of what makes those Marvel properties so great.

Fifteen years ago James Wan was filming two guys chained to bathroom pipes. He has sure escalated quite a bit since then haha.

Some excellent looking moments, but I think I've come to realize that films of the fantastical aren't totally my cup of tea. I'm sure it will have objectively great qualities and many will love it; I, on the other hand, probably won't mind skipping out. He wasn't my go-to guy in JL either so I don't really mind that. Good trailer nonetheless.

So is this stuff all taking place before Justice League, then? Are they doing that with the Flash film and such as well, and even Batman if they get one out? I guess I didn't really understand the reason for starting with JL if they're going to work backwards and get origin stories anyway. Clearly that model hasn't begun well for them, but this could be the first majorly positive film of theirs outside of WW.

No, after. This movie will have origin scenes, but it's all about Arthur deciding to become king after saving the world in Justice League.

In Justice League, he didn't want to embrace that part of his life (being half-human, half-Atlantean), because he was tired of being an outsider. But now that he's seen how important it is, he's ready to take the thrown (which is currently being held by his fully Atlantean brother, who thinks that HE is the only rightful heir to the thrown).

^ You're right, thanks for the clarification. I haven't seen JL since before its theatrical release, so I'm pretty far removed from some of the things that were said in it.

You're able to do what so many people can't do by saying, "This doesn't work for me" as opposed to, "This is objectively bad".

Do the same thing tomorrow. And the next. Now do it forever.

A 5+ minute trailer? Okay well I just skimmed it and I got to say, this has the chance to be on the level of the Marvel movies in terms of entertainment and story.

                              Bravo DC/WB.
