    Re: Black Panther (2018)

Black Panther financial update. The film brought in another $11.3 million at the domestic box office this weekend pushing its US total over $650 million dollars. It is now only the fifth film to ever reach $650 million at the domestic box office. It won’t sit there long however as fourth place on the all-time list is currently occupied by Jurassic World’s $652 million. By the end of next week, it should have passed Jurassic World and the third place film, Titantic’s $659 million. Don’t think it’s going to get any higher than third all-time though as the two films in front of it are Avatar at $760.5 million dollars and Star Wars: The Force Awakens $937.6 million dollars. Third highest grossing film of all-time at the domestic box office ain’t bad at all. Granted it’s gonna fall back to fourth after Infinity War comes out, but still a fantastic run.

Wonder what this relates to ticket sales wise. Certainly 2018 dollars to 1940 dollars can't compare. Interested if these Marvel movies are selling as many tickets compared to the old classics.

Saw BP yesterday and I'd give it a 7-8/10. I actually thought the tech was somewhat over the top. There is one thing I didn't understand that has been brought up elsewhere outside this site:

P.S. Iron Man would kick her ***!

I think Infinity War could take over 2nd place when it's all said and done.

Would love to see Marvel/Avengers knock Star Wars outta there.

            Re: Black Panther (2018)

I watched this on Saturday and really, really liked it. I waited six weeks for the crowds to die down... and of course, in a "things that only happen to me moment" I end up sitting by a baby in a theater that's only 50-60% full. I thought I was going to end up WaWaWakanda but thankfully the baby was really quite other than some baby noises around 20-30 minutes in. Hell, with the exception those few noises and a mid-credits diaper change it was probably better than the majority of adults I've sat beside in the past, hence the waiting six weeks to see a movie that I really wanted to see.

As far as the movie, I thought Killmonger was great. He's definitely in my Top Tier of Marvel Villains. My only problem was that

Honestly, though my biggest take away was Shuri. She may very well be my favorite character all-around. There's just something incredibly likeable about her. I can't wait to see what they have in store for her character in the future and personally I think that Letitia Wright career takes off from here and she ends up being a star.

I can't wait for Infinity War.... not too much longer.

That's impressive. I didn't realize the 2015 Star Wars movie was number one domestic.

Didn't want to be the Black Panther back in the day. Just couldn't get the funding for the movie.

Also my vinyl and shirt just shipped. I can't wait!

The Wesley Snipes tag line is a little off. Should read "One fights to protect (his tax returns)"!
