    Re: Big Brother 19

Just glancing over my BB pre-season picks...I'm already regretting so many of them. Jillian was one of my picks for top females lol. Cody I thought would be a great player.

As much as everyone wants Cody out, I think he's their perfect villain for the season. The editing on Cody so far...they had to have casted him for this reason alone. It's like he's the villain in a horror movie(a certain popular meme goes abit further with this). He's been the best part of the Den of Temptations lol. And that creepy "I don't care for dolls" line where they just leave him on camera for 10 seconds after that with nothing happening lol. And then Paul wins HOH and gets his HOH room and pics, and everyone's checking everything out, and Cody is just standing by the door the entire time not reacting to a single thing lol. Not that I want him to win, but he's just the type of villain on BB who actually makes for good TV.

Also, Christmas surely was only brought on here for all those puns and the jingle sound effect right? Seems like that's the only thing they care about regarding her. Though she has been a good surprise so far in terms of gameplay.

I don't watch feeds, but I do watch BB After Dark on occasion. Last night was one of the funniest nights I have ever seen. It was kind of fun that that there was no gameplay. It was just some of the funniest conversations and playing around. They were in a mood, and I don't think they even had alcohol.

        Re: Big Brother 19

Was looking at the tv guide and saw that next week we have 4 episodes in a 5 day span. Wednesday, Thursday, Friday episodes and Sunday after that too.

Maybe that Friday ends up being that horribly pointless episode we saw last year where it's like some festival type thing with prizes and a concert. I hope not though.

It's too early for that in my opinion. My guess would be a battle back between Cameron, Jillian, and whoever is evicted tomorrow and next week.

Lucky for them there's a quit. Improves their odds. Battle back probably ties in with the temptations. So they can be like "we never brought someone back, the houseguest chose the temptation so don't blame us if you don't like it"

Interesting episode last night. Christmas has to have surgery, but they let her stay in the game. She's not in the house for the live eviction but gets to call in with her vote lol.

And big surprise...another pointless BB twist abandoned after like 3 weeks. They bill it as "the summer of temptation" only to abandon the temptation stuff a quarter of the way into the season. Not that I hate it this season because it impacted people I like, but it's just stupid in general how every year on BB they do things to favor specific types of HGs. Den of Temptation, where the first power is safety for 3 weeks, in a season where there's a returning fan fave. Like he wouldn't have gotten it.....And 2nd week is another power, which obviously gets awarded to that fan faves closest ally.

Even on BBCAN they did it too. Half a season with returning vets, and had a fan vote where they voted to give a HG safety for the first half of the game(until jury), and that HG still got to compete in comps as well. Wonder if this season mimics that in the sense that the moment Pauls immunity is up,he'd get taken out(on BBCAN,literally minutes after the immunity was up,the person got voted out on a double eviction episode)

They're dumping the Den of Temptation? good.

There's too much going on, strip it back down to basic gameplay, we don't need 100 twists every season

Cody somewhat called them out on it. It was obvious production gave Paul protection, so why not just give him it outright. Don't play these games. Now we have another Paul protection, the battle back.

How Christmas gets to stay is unbelievable. They say oh we won't change any competitions for her, but she still gets a vote.

I'm already getting tired of this season. Cody was stupid, but at least he was playing the game to win. Almost everyone else is in the I just want to make it to jury .... so I get more money, more tv time, and get paid for the rest of the summer.

                    Paul and Alex are playing.

This season has another BB17 type feel to it. On a scale of 1-10,it'd be a 5. Not bad,not good. It's just a generic season of Big Brother.

Big Brother needs some big change to put new life in the show. Survivor has over 30 seasons but I still find some of the more recent seasons to still be top 10 worthy seasons. Big Brother, haven't really had the same feel for it,even those 2 of past 5 seasons have had winners I really liked, the season as a whole didn't blow people away.

                        Re: Big Brother 19

Only good part of this episode was Kevin-Ramseys stuff lol. Kevin actually acting like his dad/mentor. I'd rather see random funny stuff like that than most other stuff they show.

Been meaning to say this all season but..Anyone else think Dominique has those "crazy eyes"? People joke about Cody being the crazy person, but every time Dominique is in the DR, she just has that creepy/crazy look. One of those looks where she'll do something evil but smile at you while doing it lol. Maybe it's just the DR lighting that adds to it because in regular house scenes, I don't see that crazy look.

Speaking of Cody, seeing his exit interview with Julie, you can clearly tell some of his stuff in the house is exaggerated. Like his DRs. Trying to edit him as super crazy when in reality, they just leave the DR cam on him for 5 extra seconds while he's just sitting there waiting for the BB voice in the DR to ask him another question(since sitting in that room is like sitting in a closet, you can't actually see who's talking to you). Part of how BB can manipulate things in editing. When you're in the DR for hours a week, and they just need enough for a few soundbites, they can get anything they want, even from past weeks and play it off as a diff week you said it.

                          Re: Big Brother 19

You watched a different exit interview with Julie than I saw.

Cody's problem is that he has a complete inability to empathize. Every single person that expressed different opinion than him was given an even more adamant declaration of whatever Cody believed, period. He won HoH, but lacked any ability to read the group he was a part of. He decided that winning HoH meant he was the defacto leader, and democracy was not an option.

I've seen various examples of the same issue among many seasons of Survivor and Big Brother. Being a leader does not means first assessing what your team needs and wants. He went into the Veto ceremony to do something he knew his team would hate. He told Julie the reason he would not tell them what he was going to do was that they would try to talk him out of it.

That it asinine on two levels. One, even if Paul didn't have protection, the house still turns on him. That was clear when he nominated Christmas. Logically, for gameplay, it was dumb for anyone to keep Christmas over Jillian who was in completely over her head, and was a threat to know one. Christmas had shown to be smart, had great social game, and was a freaking beast. But everyone in his alliance considered her an ally.

Second, regardless of who he put up, the entire alliance realized that he was not working with them, but only using them. He lost them even before he pointed a replacement nominee. Leaders that do not listen to their followers get dumped.

And yeah, Dom seems crazy as heck. She has no chance in this game. But you are misreading what people are saying about Cody. It's not that he has some sort of generic weird look to him, as you say Dom has. He has a mental defect that causes him to blankly stare at someone when they ask him a simple question. He can't even manage to say that he doesn't want to talk about it.

Yes, Paul was given a head start in the game. They are probably paying him more and he represents a character that will draw viewers. They knew he would get the first temptation, and they knew he would take it.

But the only person to have left the game that had a chance to win was Cameron. Cody and and Jillian were both useless. And one of them, or whoever goes this week is coming back. And Paul's free ride also paints a target on his back once it ends. It sure doesn't pave his way to the end.

Right now, the only folks playing the game logically, are Paul, Alex, Elena, Jason, Christmas and Kevin. They are smart enough, and empathetic enough, to to get the end. Others could get there, like Matt and Ramses. They are smart enough to figure the game out, they just haven't yet.

Jessica, Raven, Mark, and Josh are nothing but fodder.

My money is on Alex. I think Paul gets blindsided at some point. His social game is much better than he gets credit for. I hated him to death last season, but he was the only one of his alliance that understood how not be an ******* to people he needed to vote with him. That got him to the end, but I don't think it will again.

It's not rocket science in the first couple of weeks. You nominate easy people to get out. You make your alliance happy and ready to fight for you. Those votes clue you in on who is really with who, and helps secure your base. Cody assemble an alliance of dudes that look like him as his core, then the babes that they can just tell what to do. He came off as a sexist, MRA type. If plays video games, he's a freaking gamergater.

I would put him and Season 16's Devin as the two worst BB players ever. And Cody was probably worse.

Game wise he did suck, though was also such an unfortunate situation as he mentioned essentially nominating half the house in one week, but I was referring to his DRs mainly.

Alex actually has played one of best games so far despite me thinking she was gonna suck. And Christmas was playing good game, but injury will cost her. Major surgery and future issues requiring more surgery and she'll never be 100% again?! Was it really that bad? Didn't look anywhere near as bad I thought it'd be. Surprised even more that she's allowed to stay. I know it's a diff game, but I've seen people on survivor have to be pulled for much less.

Yeah when the person you are spending 90% of your time with in the house says.. You are the worst playing in BB history. You probably need to change up your strategy.
All you needed to watch was his reaction to Paul's HOH room. Dude was stone cold and then left early. You just don't do that in the game of BB. He had no social game at all.
I am guess that his showmance will not continue outside the house. His girl will not want to be with him.

Majority of BB showmances fail. But for some reason their producers keep pushing these types of stuff over and over and over again.

Sure, BB would be boring with 16 of the same type of people, but it's also not a great show when it just seems like a combination of the Bachelor and some MTV/E Network reality show. The fact that in the second episode of this season they spent a segment on TV giving the pairs their own couples nickname says all that it needs to about what BB wants to promote on TV.
