    Re: Avengers: Infinity War

The Spider Man scene didn’t really do too much for me in both times I’ve seen this(twice so far).

I felt more “emotion” when Thanos killed Gamora(Especially with how he killed her). You knew that he didn’t want to do THAT but like he said, he wasn’t going to make the mistake again of missing out on the stone.

I like how you somewhat like Thanos more, or at least can understand him as a character (motivations, etc). Most of what we knew prior just had him as the big bad evil guy.

The heroes turning to dust really did not bother me at all..... because you know they're coming back eventually. Also, I went in expecting one of the "Big 3" (Stark, Cap or Thor) to die (for real) so when that didn't happen I was relived.

Gamora was the most "in the feels" moment for me and Vision was pretty bad too but I was expecting it by then. Losing both Loki and Hemidall right at the jump really set the stage for Thanos as a "big bad".

I'm kind of impressed (not really) that the entire Avengers squad was spared.

          What's coming after Ant-Man?

Anyway, a lot of great moments in this. It made up for the lackluster Ultron and gave me the same feelings I had when I first saw the original Avengers six years ago.

            Re: Avengers: Infinity War

I think the biggest thing about the deaths is you didn't see them coming (Quicksilver pun not intended). When Bucky died I was like "oh ok". Then they showed Okoye and I was like "Ok cool, they're gonna kill Okoye" then T'Challa turned into ash (more on that later). Then basically all the remaining Guardians of the Galaxy vanished. Spider-Man was easily the hardest for me, without a doubt.

I mean, yeah you know they're coming back in Avengers 4. It was just so unexpected. Especially with Spider-Man 2 allegedly taking place "minutes" after the final events of Avengers 4, and the already announced Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.

As far as Black Panther, in the comics Shuri does become the Black Panther for a time, and recently (I think yesterday or two days ago) Ryan Coogler said he wouldn't be opposed to going that route (technically he just said a female Black Panther) in the next movie.

Pretty much a whole year. Ant-Man takes place before Infinity War, and Captain Marvel takes place in the 90s. My guess is that Captain Marvel's credit scene (or one of them, depending on how many there are) takes place during present day.

                    Avengers: Infinity War

Infinity War $2 billion race update:

As of this moment Infinity War has made $1,275,312,103. Good for the 11th highest grossing film all-time at the worldwide box office. It opens in China today so it shouldn’t be long before it cracks the top 10. Next up in its path to the top is Star Wars Episode VIII: The Last Jedi in 10th place with $1,318,123,902, Black Panther in 9th place with $1,338,847,447 and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part II in 8th with $1,341,511,219

                      Avengers: Infinity War

I don’t look at them as being dead, which is also another reason why it didn’t do much. I just look at them as...floating in the wind. Like they went to the store for a pack of smokes but will be right back in a year, lol.

As for Shuri, I figured that would be the case after the 3rd time I seen that, especially with how much love she got from everyone that seen it. I felt like that’s only a matter of time.

Rogers and Black Panther running down to that fight never gets old, especially when T’Challa is getting the Tribes hyped up right before the big fight. That’s up there with the pregame staredown between the Ducks and Hawks in the first Mighty Ducks.

I feel like Marvel has knocked it out the park with their last 2 bad guys in Thanos and Killmonger. Of course we knew what they each wanted in the grand scheme but the story they each told in getting to their ultimate goal really got my attention.

Also helps they got 2 great actors in Josh Brolin and Michael B. Jordan playing those roles.

                          Re: Avengers: Infinity War

                          Finally saw it last night.

Obviously I enjoyed it, but I don't really understand the hoopla over the "deaths."

Bucky's death hit me, but once Black Panther vanished all emotional reaction went out the window because it was obvious that the character's aren't truly dead. So when I heard Peter say that famous line, I was actually kind of bored with the scene ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

                          Random thoughts:
                          1. Iron Man and Thor. I'm thinking they get for real dead in A4. Stark because of what Strange said, Thor because he is just too powerful to be an Avenger now.
                          2. Why didn't Hulk want to come out? Did I miss something or is he just scured of getting beat by Thanos again?
                          3. Loki's death (imo permanent btw) was bittersweet. Enjoyable character, but did kind of run his course.
                          4. This fits into the unpopular opinion thread, but Cap is my least favorite Avenger by far. But he was actually bearable in this movie.
                          5. Also maybe unpopular, but not buying the Thanos depth. "Guys look, he has manpain because he has to kill his daughter! You feel a little sympathy and understand him a little now right?" Nope, dude is still just generic crazy bad guy.
                          6. Vision. Why was he so damn useless? He kept getting pwnd every scene, meanwhile Black Widow did a better job holding her own. I thought the previous movies made him look stronger. He spent the entire movie as the damsel in distress.

                            Re: Avengers: Infinity War

Stark is definitely dying next film, I don’t see Disney wanting to keep paying a 100 million for every movie RDJ does with them. Same with Cap, him and Ironman are gonna go out with a bang and give the greatest sacrifice.

I really really hope Hemsworth does GotG 3. They are just fantastic together but it’s gonna be weird without Gamora.

One thing that really bugged me about the film was how Xandar was wiped off the map just like that by Thanos, negating everything the Guardians did in the first film.

I know they had limited time but to take out a powerful planet like that without an Infinity stone to start with is a little disappointing.

                                Re: Avengers: Infinity War

I liked Infinity War for one reason. It made Thanos the protagonist AND antagonist. It took the time to flesh out an enemy's motivations that they've teased for 10 years. The movie works if it was named Thanos: Infinity War instead of Avengers Infinity War. It also had some of my favorite scenes in all of the MCU, Spider-Man showing his true capabilities, THOR MAKING STORMBREAKER!!!, and His arrival at Wakanda at maximum power

Can't wait for Captain Marvel(Please be as strong as the comics), Infinity war part 2.

I do have one annoyance about the movie though. I felt IW Made Thanos feel more towards Dr. Doom than Thanos. It made me hate the Fantastic 4 Fox movies that much more. (DOOM is my favorite villain of all time.) That being said, it worked and i wouldn't have changed a thing in Marvel's cinematic universe.
