Show so far has been alright. Obviously the Sheldon parts have been funny, but that's really it. Though his sisters one liners throughout have been good too.

If the show ever gets a proper series finale, my guess is that this whole show will really be Sheldon just talking to a biographer in the future. Covering his childhood in one long conversation lol. Could see something like that happening.

Random thoughts I read from people online about the show:

What if Sheldon's friend ends up being the same guy as the one who moved out in bbt(the "die Sheldon die" guy)? They gave him a name in bbt(in credits only) , but that's a continuation error I wouldn't mind.

And this was more a joke, but imagine if this series ends Sheldon being like "and kids, that's how I met your mother" lol. Several seasons of Sheldon talking about himself, just to briefly connect dots between that and meeting Amy. Obviously won't happen, but series finale speculation is interesting to think about(yes, even in season 1 lol) given the whole narration angle.

Longer the show is on, more I enjoy it over current BBT.

Missy could have her own show and it'd be good too. They did great job casting for that character. Timing/delivery of her lines is perfectly set up.

I totally agree about the show and Missy. She cracks me up. This is one of my favorite shows currently.

Ironic how last post in here was about Missy. Since then, I've felt they haven't given her as many good moments. Georgie seems to be getting more focus than she does (though I guess it makes sense since he goes to same school as Sheldon and George).


Season finale details have been revealed and it could be best episode of series so far.

It'd be cool but forced doing the whole "these characters have actually met in real life before." story. And Penny wouldn't even be born yet would she? I'm sure shes at least a few years younger than Sheldon.

Leonard is the only one I could see Sheldon knowing about beforehand seeing how his mom is the only one even remotely famous of any of their parents. And her book is one Sheldon would probably read, and I think he was a fan of hers even before meeting on BBT.

That'd be a funny line. Having Sheldon reading the book and commenting on her son(and all the negative things shes said about him in her book).

Anything outside of the characters being "imaginary" I would be surprised with.

Wasn't expecting that kind of ending for Young Sheldon. Simply just showing everyone elses life at the exact moment Sheldon was listening to the Nobel Prize stuff on radio.

For a split second I didn't realize what was going on. I didn't hear Leonards mom in that scene at first, so I thought they were randomly showing "flash forwards" with Sheldon growing up, and the Penny asleep scene was really just Missy. Surprising thing in credits, seems like Penny is only 4 years younger than the guys. Which would make Leonard/Sheldon in their late 20s by time BBT began.

People suggested it and I think it'd be a cool thing to have. We get a spinoff of sorts where the one show is about BBT characters as kids. Not a show about just 1 kid specifically, just each episode could contain one or more BBT character narrating the episode about moments from their childhood. So we could see Penny growing up on the farm, Leonard dealing with his mom, Howard maybe in episodes still with his dad and so on.

That's what I thought. His speech was gonna be him basically narrating young Sheldon, which would tie in both shows perfectly.

Perhaps he wins another Nobel in the future. The YS narration did mention him having kids, so that'd be years away.

First post in a year lol.

That was a big season finale. Probably their deepest one yet.

Next season onwards will definitely start setting up all these stories we heard from BBT and the eventual downfall of the Coopers.

For anyone still keeping up with this show, next week is the series finale! They'll be doing a spinoff of the spinoff, but I don't see it lasting more than a season or two (it's just a show revolving around Georgie and Mandy, meaning no Sheldon, Missy or Mary). Even if you haven't kept up with the show, the series finale next week and the latest episode this week are definite must watches if you have at least seen the show before.

Obvious disconnect between Young Sheldon and BBT in terms of stories (to be fair, BBT was obviously written without ever thinking there'd be a show about Sheldon's backstory). Biggest being Sheldon's grandma not being nearly as bad as they made her seem in BBT, similar with George/Mary's marriage (although, Young Sheldon was a show told from Sheldon's perspective so perhaps that's why?)

On Young Sheldon, doesn't seem like Mary ever clued in on any possible cheating George did, or wanted a divorce or anything. But in BBT, she seemed happy to be widowed in a way.

As for the series finale, the latest episode sets up the shows end in a huge way. It's funny how you knew it was coming the entire time but it's still shocking in a way (although I had it spoiled due to the finale episode titles).

Huge spoilers going into the finale

George dies of a heart attack at work, weeks before Sheldon goes to college and days before George was about to accept a college football coaching job and move the family to Houston.

You knew from BBT that George died when Sheldon was a kid, and the biggest BBT episode relating to Young Sheldon was probably when Sheldon went to Georgie and Georgie let Sheldon have it about how much the family fell apart once George died and it didn't impact Sheldon as much because he left for college and stayed in California afterwards while the rest of the family in Texas had to deal with the aftermath.

Series finale is a 2 part one and if it's anything like the final scene on this week's show, it'll be emotional. A long running family show where the series ends revolving around the dads death.

Those flashbacks during the funeral, George and Missys "daddy daughter date", that whole thing was well done.

There's stuff about the finale I liked and stuff I hated, overall it didn't feel like the series really ended outside of Sheldon going to Cal Tech
