Well, we got shocking alright and the outcome is clearly final.

        SPOILER

EDIT: The second time just outside of a year that I bit on the first report of The Blacklist's winter premiere date which proved to be wrong. Despite what TV Guide reported the second half of the season begins Wednesday, January 3rd as told by NBC's voice-over announcer at the conclusion of the fall finale.

Who is the main bad guy? I've seen him before-reminds me of a 1970's Ed Asner.

Finally got caught up...what a finale. I have to ask, as I may have missed it, but did we ever learn who was in the suitcase?

Nope, but I only have two guesses (probably the same two as everyone else has). Anything else would just come too much out of left field, really.

I just caught the finale as well.

I thought it was the best show of the season by far and perhaps for the whole show. Sounds of Silence with Disturbed.

Ryan Eggold claims he is finished with the show and starring in a Spike Lee movie next. The producers have said there will be more stories to be told now and the real story has always been about Liz and Red, not Tom and Liz. The producers said Spader wanted to kill off Tom because he has been a pain in my rear, but they said that would't have gone down well with Liz as her daughter.

However, this is the Blacklist, anything is possible, so, maybe Tom isn't really dead, yet.lol

As you know that was Spader's desire throughout Tom's history, not this episode in particular.

There are so many "get out of death" free cards you can play and killing off Tom was a simple way of refocusing Red/Liz. I think NBC expected Ryan Egghold to be a big star for them but the timing of his spinoff amid The Blacklist's declining ratings before, during and after production of "Redemption" doomed it. After that, his days were really numbered.

Yeah, Jaybee, I'm sure the actor Spader meant that the character Tom has been a pain in his rear the whole series.

Personally, I prefer Eggold's acting vs Boone's acting. Eggold justs seems more versatile.

I love Boone in this role, but Eggold definitely has talent. He's already written, directed, and produced a movie with "a level" of star talent (Justin Long and Cobey Smulders) in it, so he's not lacking on ambition either. I'm sure he'll have plenty of jobs in the near future.
