A low-Red episode spotlights Liz and she shines. Great episode.

That episode was phenomenal. I loved everything about it. What a way to start off the 2nd half of the season. Liz absolutely shined man.

          Liz was Red bad.

I thought this was Liz's Cape May episode with a few similarities.

          Well done.

Very strange episode to start, by that I mean the nature of the baddies and whatnot.

But wow, from the walkie scene on, Liz lit it up!

I thought this was one of the best episodes in the entire series. Loved it from start to finish...the writers have done a great job this season of shifting gears/directions. I wasn't sure how much mileage this show would have after Liz discovered her relationship with Red, but now we've got the suitcase and her going after Tom's killers. Really enjoying this show right now...

Saw it and like all loved it, Liz was so bad ***, she showing her inner Red right now.

Glad seeing Red back in rare form, Lizzie still is on a terror, and I was glad to see the dynamic between Ressler and Red.

Hated the cleaner blackmailing Ressler all the time.

I did as well, but I'm sitting there trying to think about whether he actually did anything wrong. I don't mean legally, I meant in what he was doing. Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't he do that stuff to keep his business afloat? Like, isn't his ability to do that job hinged upon the fact that he has people on the inside?

Just wondering, because I can't remember. Maybe he only blackmails Ressler though because he is FBI, in which case yeah that's pretty bad. I just thought he kind of did that with everyone (though I'd like if he was upfront about it before he helped them in the first place).

Hatley was a cleaner. I was surprised he didn't replace Mr. Kaplan, but they went in another direction. Turning on a client (Ressler) was unethical even for a criminal, but seemingly not good for his cleaning operation. My problem with this character is that he apparently had a sterling cleaner reputation even while carelessly operating a side blackmail business.

                          Re: The Blacklist Season 5

Pretty strong episode, loved the treasure hunt with Red actually working alongside a Blacklister. Great callback to the Stewmaker!

Some poorly written parts of this episode, though:
                          • This is just my opinion, but that was too easy of a getaway for Stern from the museum. Not to mention getting his hands on that coin so easily. Maybe I'm just nitpicking a bit too much there, because I'm sure Liz and Red have gotten away with undercover work much more easily.

                          • Evidence rooms must have surveillance cameras. That is an absolute given. If they're going to bother showing us that Stern is going to loop a surveillance video feed from the Mint, you might as well do it twice.

                          • Liz, I know you had to stuff the rag quickly when the police first came inside, but when you made your exit you should definitely consider apprehending it again, if not at least using the garbage disposal.

                          • And come on Liz, you aren't simply just going to steal the rag, swap it out with another one! You would just make yourself look more suspicious after you've been personally informed that rag was going to be ran for DNA. And you didn't wear gloves entering in the key code or grabbing the file? For shame.

As far as very well written moments, Liz's large picture plan was clever, and I loved the transition from "The apple doesn't fall far from the tree" to showing Liz finally ridding Navarro's body.

I didn't notice that. Is it just me or aren't all TV evidence rooms void of surveillance cameras?

I don't think your nitpicking about any of those things but The Blacklist has many times been laden with story conveniences that belie logic. It's a fun ride though.

Maybe it's because I'm just re-watching Person of Interest, but evidence room footage was a crucial point for the police in Season 1, so I'm now holding all evidence room moments at a higher bar as a result.

I think my point there was just that they bother showing how particular they are for certain aspects, but then completely ignore them thereafter. Liz is scrubbing down that apartment, gloves and all, to make sure that anything there is rendered untraceable in case it is investigated. Well, something was stolen from evidence. That wouldn't be investigated? Just felt like a glaring oversight is all.

I don't mind convenience. I just think the writers are generally more clever when it comes to making something happen, even if convenience is a part of it. Pulling the fire alarm is a nice way to do something like block the feds from getting up to the room, but a few more people in the crowd shouldn't make those two suddenly undetectable. Maybe if they used that distraction as they went out the window or something, I don't know lol. They just went right under their noses like it was nothing.

Speaking of which, I saw the credits and noticed that was Nathan Lane. I haven't actually seen him in anything before, all I know is he was the voice of Timon in The Lion King. I'll have to see what else he has been in before.

Wow, I would have put the odds of Blzer not seeing a Nathan Lane film at about 1000-1. LOL.

As a POI fan, I acknowledge that, but the nature of that show was the Computer God/Overseer aided by digital cameras everywhere...not that they're not everywhere now.
