The show kind of got boxed in with Agnes. Wasn't Megan Boone's real-life pregnancy written into the show?

If you haven't seen the finale, yet, please don't click the following link.

If you have, please enjoy the Q & A with one of the producers.

I can't wait for season 6, the breadcrumbs up to this season did lay the foundation for the finale.

Shoot, I was right about every single part of this episode. The reveals/twists didn't disappoint me, but the fact that I called them before they happened was a bit personally disappointing (I like to give them credit when I'm still guessing or they don't tip their hand so often).

        Spoiler

Again, I don't mind the fact that these twists were here. I don't like how they stick around it afterward though going like: "See how clever we are, folks?" They did this also when somebody posed as Garvey instead of as Red, which again was very clever... but then Red is all like: "Stick around as I reveal how we did this, because I love to brag about it!" It seemed like the writers were bragging to us more than Red was bragging to Garvey.

But damn, I didn't realize the ramifications of the reveal and what kinds of things it would bring. I never really did ever think about that. Oh, how the tables have turned. Bring on Season 6!

You knew Reddington 2 was not Reddington?

You knew that Liz was playing Reddington 2?

LOL, no, I'm still working on what to call Jame Spader's Blacklist character so Raymond Reddington 2 seemed appropriate. The "Red highlighting" was just thrown in there.

Eh, we'll still call him Red. We don't know who the other guy is at this point, or if he even had a criminal background.

But yes, the Liz thing was too obvious. I second-guessed myself when I saw her pretty bloodied up, but after seeing the expository flashback sequences of how it came to be, I realized that is such a Liz kind of thing to take a punch or two for the greater good. There was no way she wasn't a part of that rouse though.

When Red said: "I'm not..." before getting interrupted, there were several things I thought he would have said:

                1) I'm not Raymond Reddington.
                2) I'm not Liz's father.
                3) I'm not going to tell you what the DNA means.

At this point though it had very little to do with Liz's mother when he started with "I'm not." I just don't see how they can have a full episode dedicated to a decoy Reddington and then have him still not be the real Reddington. That's really the only reason I doubted that possibility (plus the whole: "Why do they know his face and not the other guy?" but it seems he has posed as Red for 30 some odd years).

Yeah, I figured as much. The sad part for someone like me though is I didn't even know it was the finale. I avoid previews or the stuff that's talked about in here, regarding interviews or any upcoming events of that sort. I watched it just like it was any other episode. Once Red shot Ross, I thought to myself: "Welp, guess we'll have to hang on yet another week!" Then Liz's scene at the cemetery happened, and I realized we were hitting some sort of closure.

I think all told, the duffel bag reveal was as good as it could be. The question now becomes what does Mr. Kaplan think of all this trying to reveal it to Liz, or Reddington's role to begin with.

Just last week I was stating how rewatching this show might be a toughy around this time and it still might be, but the first four seasons will be a very interesting rewatch if all of this was planned from the get-go. I want to re-engage in every conversation anybody had with Red, including Dembe trying to give Red some advice like: "You should tell her. She deserves to know." He's been saying that kind of stuff forever, and I don't always bridge the gap between what he is advising and what truth comes out thereafter.

Someday down the road, after this show wraps up, I'll definitely be do a binge rewatch of some sort.

                      Re: The Blacklist Season 5

The Producers have left enough breadcrumbs throughout the seasons to come to this point in the storyline including season 1, Are you my father, A. No, I am not. Season 2, I shot my father. This was the whole is he or is he not your dad playing out and strung out beautifully, I might add.

There are three people that now know RedImposter's secret, Jennifer, Liz and Liz grandpa, Dominic. Everyone else that knew the secret has died.

Liz vs ImposterRed next season and I feel the roles have reversed now. Liz has the upper hand going forward. At the beginning of the series, I really thought Megan Boone was the weak link in acting chops, but after this season, my opinion has changed. She has had a real nice turnaround and that is great to see.

Oh yeah, that phone call during the S1 winter finale had him saying: "No." I can't even think about whether he has ever actually even officially said "Yes" since the end of Season 4 until now, or has only just played alongside that idea. Very clever if he was never actually trying to ruse her and was always just saying it like it actually was.

So weird that after I had just mentioned there are apparently now three different "Reddingtons" throughout the course of this show (including the decoy one), Liz apparently now has a fourth "father" throughout this thing as well. That's a lot of twists and turns for sure.

There are three people that now know RedImposter's secret, Jennifer, Liz and Liz grandpa, Dominic. Everyone else that knew the secret has died.
What about Dembe? I'm not sure if you just meant people who would use it against him or people who have that knowledge in general.

Also, obviously Red knows the secret himself, so that would technically make five people... but I'm sure you weren't counting that one because he won't use that information against himself either.

Yeah, if this is a poker table the question becomes how she will end up playing her hand. I have a feeling the first half of the season will be general ol' Blacklisting, with conversations thrown in the mix between Liz and Jennifer, etc. I think it will start out in that procedural manner, and then when the time comes that she needs to start raising the ante or go all in, we'll really start to see dark Liz do her thing.

I have loved Liz this season. She got a little mopey around Tom and Agnes, and even though I generally liked her more than the masses (I thought it was her show as much as it was Red's) she was wearing thin in a lot of personal aspects, but this season she was just so badass. I mentioned it after the season premiere that Megan Boone herself even looks so stunning this season, for whatever reason I can't lay my finger on. Maybe it's just her newfound swagger, I don't know. Whatever it is, I've commended the acting choices throughout this show.

On another note, very early on in this show's run I thought that Liz and Ressler were going to ship (after Tom was seen as a bad guy and before we saw Ressler show a growing addiction to pain pills). Then after Tom died I saw that conversation spark up one more time, but I just don't see it anymore. There seems to be no rhyme or reason to that. At least Aram and Samar finally are where they should be.

On that note, I don't know if others have felt the same way, but the actress playing Navabi (Mozhan Marno) has been a bit unconvincing in some dialogue this season, like she really was showing some poor acting prowess in general. There was a weirdly edited scene when she saved Ressler from one of those hot fires, and I couldn't even tell that he was in imminent danger because she played it off so casually. I know her character seems rather stoic in general, but I don't think that's what this was. Thankfully in S6 we will probably see some progression with her character as she will probably be in a general happier state because of everybody's favorite good guy Aram.

I think you're right...watch them continue and maybe she sees Agnes occasionally but it's not part of the show. Obviously it wouldn't help the plot much, so they can just say "it's not safe for her now" and roll with it.

To be honest it's hard to spoiler-tag something when it comes to wanting to point to another film's twist without saying the twist, but then you're tied up between tagging only the twist so people don't click on it (but then they know what happens in the film) or tagging the film title as well (but then they don't know what it is they are clicking the spoiler tag for).

As for your theory (comment may spoil The Prestige):
