Just catching up with the show and I’m still on season 3 and Shawns at the point with Leah that he wanted to prove he can change.

To the point where he would have the toilet paper come from the bottom. That’s a hell naw from me, I would never do that for anyone.

That is all, thought I would chime in.

Dang man, watching season 3 finale and the first two of season 4. Super heavy.

Good time a little break before I catch up.

This show is nothing but relationships now. Many of the new characters (introduced last season) also suck.

Jordan is super annoying, especially in the premiere.

They're trying to give her "character," whatever that means.

And it's not to say that I don't care about relationships on shows, specifically if the development is integral to what goes on with the character. Glassman shows a great idea of how his character is affected by his relationships. You also obviously need to work with Shaun and Lea, but it doesn't always need to be relationship-based interaction either. But the dating scene overall and the conversations surrounding them in the workplace are just too much. Have more character arcs like Morgan (minus the shipping with Park, which I'll admit their on-screen competitional chemistry has worked since the beginning by the way).

Condescending patients get annoying, too. They started doing this in the later seasons of House. Thankfully the one in this episode redeemed itself when we realized what was going on, but can we have doctors and surgeons work on saving patients again and continue to grow Shaun and the people around him?

Also, I can't remember if those characters were introduced S4 or S3 anymore. Maybe it was the latter.

I'm finally caught up. I believe it airs again within the next month or so?

This show is compelling whenever it involves around Shaun, but is really weakening otherwise. Freddie Highmore is impressively delivering and his character has been hitting me emotionally lately. His interactions with Glassman are second to none.

^ It actually starts up again next week. Got bumped up since ABC cancelled Promised Land.

                        .
I never wanted that to happen particularly, but it also hasn't been particularly dreadful. I like anything that can bring Shaun to some form of normalcy since his childhood, and having someone else tolerate him helps.

But still, this show ain't no House. The ABC-like dramatmosphere stinks it up more than I wish it did, even with the patients.

The most recent episode broke me a little, though. It felt pretty internally heavy.

Next week there is a break, so if you're behind ABC has the first six episodes available to stream On Demand if you want to play catch-up:

                            http://abc.go.com/shows/the-good-doctor/episode-guide

Great show so far, and it seems like every episode is besting the previous one. If the supporting cast isn't doing it for you after the pilot, I suggest you keep giving it a chance. I love the way that an autistic savant is portrayed in this show, which is what keeps me coming back more than anything else.

"Sorry, Not Sorry" was a moving episode. One of the cases was emotionally powerful and Shaun has a very heartfelt growth moment in it.

This show suffers from many things, like too many patient stories, shipping everybody, forcing wokeness, some mediocre side characters (or giving them plotlines at least), and being "too ABC" in tone. But the things that it gets right are why I stay. Murphy and Glassman are right, Lea works in small doses, Morgan is excellent, Park and Andrews are good for medical/workplace scenes, and some serialized throughlines can get you to binge episodes if interested.

However, without the pathos core that episodes like this brought, many episodes can just come and go and keep the show from being anything near excellent as an overall.
