    Dash Cams?

Anyone have any suggestions for a dash cam? My Dad mentioned he wanted one so I was thinking of getting it for Christmas. Want something high quality so it actually serves a purpose. How does the recording work? Does it just keep recording over stored video up to the amount of the SD card?

    I have this one

    https://www.amazon.com/V1-Dashboard-.../dp/B00X528FNE

It can take up to a 128GB microSD card. I have mine set to record in 10 minute loops. So it creates a new file every 10 minutes. It has a g force sensor so if you are in a wreck it automatically saves that current loop to a different folder. Otherwise they all save to the same folder and the oldest will eventually be over-written.

Get one for him and you. It's cheap insurance. You never know when you will be in a wreck when it's your word against theirs, or where it looks like it was your fault and it was clearly theirs.

Thanks for the suggestion. And it's as simple as sticking it to your windshield?

Is there any danger of a drain on your battery?

My cigarette lighters shut off when my engine stops. So it's not an issue for me. I know there a number of people who hardwire it to their battery, or that leave it with ports that stay on and it doesn't seem like an issue. They make cameras that run 24/7, but only turn on and record when it senses motion. Not sure how all that works.

Yes. This one comes with a very slim sticky mount so it's pretty much flush to your windshield. I take mine off the mount whenever I park somewhere in public.

Thanks for your suggestions and info. Really helped. I'm looking at this one. You think there's anything glaringly wrong with it? https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01C8...818001EY&psc=1
