    Re: Survivor: Ghost Island

    Finale tonight!

Based on the remaining players, my guess from most to least likely to win:
    Dom
    Wendell
    Don
    Laurel
    Sebastian
    Angela

Remember, as was the case from last season: (just spoilered incase someone needs a reminder or wants to be surprised as to what will happen twist wise)

    Spoiler

Overall, I'd say this was better than last season. In my 'tier' rankings, I'm not sure which one I would put this one in. 2nd or 3rd tier for sure. Probably will decide by time next season starts and time has passed on this one.

Speaking of next season, hopefully it is a good twist and not a stupid name(Last 2 years the fall season were Millennials vs Gen X and Heroes vs Healers vs Hustlers). We all know they basically abandon their twist within a few episodes of the season, so why bother calling it something that will define the season when the game itself won't reflect the name.

        It's always 3.

2+ hour show(winner usually revealed minutes into the 3rd hour), and the remaining time spent on the reunion.

This sucks. Survivor Finale, Celtics/Cavs Game 5, and The Americans Penultimate Episode all in the same night.

Don't forget Eastern Conference Finals GAME 7 in the NHL as well. Fittingly, Ovechkin and the Caps will be trying to reverse their own playoff curse.

That was the craziest finale in Survivor history! Wasn't expecting Dom to turn on Wendell during the F4. Smart game move and both sides were completely ok with it too.

And then heading into the final vote, you knew it'd be close. Then Jeff is so casually like "I'll read the votes" as if he just randomly called his own shot. I seriously thought he was joking. Then he pulled out a vote and I thought he was just gonna put it back and say he's joking. Then he just starts reading off vote after vote! Part of me really wanted to see that happen, and I think they should go Borneo style with that and have vote read during that final tribal one season.

After vote read, it's 5-5! That wasn't even in my head until the vote was around 4-4 that a tie is coming. Such a crazy moment! Everything about that made it the best final tribal vote in Survivor history. Once it was a tie, you knew Wendell was winning, and in hindsight, giving Laurel the most cursed idol in Survivor history was the ultimate curse reversed as she was the biggest vote in most dramatic ending you could ever have in Survivor.

Couldn't go wrong with Dom or Wendell winning, it truly was that close. I watched Cook Islands last summer(and will watch Tocantins this summer), and I said that Ozzy/Yul F2(it was F3,but nobody remembers 3rd) showdown was the best one in Survivor. This one could have possibly topped that for me.

As for next season, another gimmick name, but I'm pulling entirely for Johnny Mundo! Unfortunately, he's probably voted out in the premiere episode just because I'm rooting for him.

Really? I figured the minute one had the chance to turn on the other they'd absolutely go for it. It felt obvious to me, neither wanted to go against the other in the final, but both played perfectly to the point that neither could eliminate the other. I wonder if production had anything to do with the idea of Dom facing Wendell himself in the fire challenge, considering the premise of the season it wouldn't surprise me

I didn't think it'd happen given how close they were (and that moment Jeff had framed was the best part). One of those "may the best man win" moments which obviously has led to the wrong move being made at final tribal(Woo being one of the biggest examples).

Sure in hindsight Dom probably should've faced Wendell and if he won, he wins the season. But given how close that final vote was, you literally couldn't predict how it'd have ended up. And Angela like they said was the one taking care of the fire at camp. She was on ghost island and got fire too so she knows how to do all that. And being an army vet, she'd have to be calm under pressure.

Maybe I'm misremembering but didn't Dom say early in the season that he would flat out turn on Wendell if necessary? Something along the lines of, he's my boy, we're carrying each other, but eventually one has to turn on the other and I won't be afraid to be the first.

There's lots of moments on survivor where people are just talk. Or they show clips trying to build suspense and possible dissension, but nothing comes from it.

They just seemed like a great duo in the game.

I feel like we weren't watching the same season lol, Dom and Wendell were cool throughout, but there was always an element of "who will turn on who first", they even joked with each other about it, while having mutual respect, but also the understanding that it'll happen eventually

Based on history, it doesn't usually end up like that. Either way, might have been obvious for some, but it was a surprise for me which made it better to watch.

Also, a funny thing someone else picked up on. Remember that meeting when Chris took the entire tribe minus Wendell/Dom to the well?

Every member of the jury(including Laurel) were at the well. The top 2 finishers of the season were the only ones not there lol. The well is cursed.

And about Sebastian...He said he was drunk at the final tribal. Don't know about all the other times, but wouldn't be surprised if he had something then too lol. I remember Jonny Fairplay went to tribal one time(still in the game) and was drunk.
