    Re: Wonder Woman 2 (2019)

Mixed feelings on this. I still love the theater experience, minus all the cheering and clapping, but I haven't been since January and I'm not sure when I will feel comfortable enough to go back. So it's good to still have something new to watch.

Thinking it's probably time to start saving and thinking about upgrading the TV/home-movie experience.

I do not miss going to the movies at all apart from the bigger screen and audio. Everything else is a wash on a good day.

Either way - HBO Max is killing it with their content. Quality over quantity.

I definitely miss seeing blockbusters on the big screen. The HBO Max app is an interface disaster to me, and they don’t even stream in 4K, but I feel like it’s been forever since I’ve seen a new movie.

We have a firestick so we had to manually download the HBO app. Personally, none of these apps do a very good job of presenting their library and God help you if you're trying to dive in deep or legit want to browse their non-featured selection.

Yeah HBO Max is terrible. I have it through Hulu and its weird I can find movies on the site but not through there. I have to save it in my stuff for it to work. Also no 4k is the worst part. How can you do that this day in age with Prime, Netflix and Disney with most things 4k.

Yep alot of these video on demand interfaces are terrible. Its like everyone see netflix and tries to copy their style without designing it to have good usability and making the interface FAST. Even hulu is terrible with their live tv integration.

Its hard to simulate walking into a video store and being able to look at a wall of selections in the blink of an eye. I get that, but navigating all of these apps is an exercise in patience and half of the time the same movies are in multiple categories.

And these "curated" categories that they come up with are always a miss with me. The best recommendations I get typically come from Prime or Hulu. Netflix is always off the mark somehow.

We have HBO Max but if the local theater here is open on December 25th, then we might just go to the theater to watch it. Nothing really beats watching a movie like this in the theaters.

I've gone to the theater five times since COVID (every time seeing Tenet). Most people I've ever seen in there was like... twelve. It was always barren, I was never near anybody. Once I was there by myself. Just me, myself, and I.

How would I feel if it was 50% full? Probably a lot different. However, so many other people are either of the same mindset as you or weren't even aware theaters were open (or didn't care to see Tenet, take your pick). At any rate, I'll have no problem going back to theaters if they're open again for WW myself, assuming there are as few of people as I have seen.

But yeah, I also have a free HBO Max trial. I'd want to wait until Synder's Justice League cut comes out, but it may be expired by then.

I really miss going to the movies and I have zero problem with going but around where I live we went into like a lock down again and theaters are all closed again and I dont see that changing by xmas. I dont care to have hbo max I am good with Hulu and disney+ and the fact a lot of my free time is spent watching sports. I may do a free trial so I can see this and the fresh prince 30 year thing though.

I like gal gadot and I really enjoyed the first movie.

Really happy this was on hbo max so it was easy to turn it off with about 45 minutes to spare

I legitimately think that without theaters, movie will just not have that same pizzazz of:

                              - Big screen and sound
                              - Reacting to moments with an audience
                              - Turning off your phone
                              - Not having pauses/distractions
                              - Feeling like you have to get your money's worth to finish the movie

I'm not saying you should have. After all, I haven't seen the film. I'm just saying that with that luxury you have, anybody else could do that at any time, and it's just too darn bad.

I don't fully follow what you're saying, but I think I get the gist of it.

I'm sure there will be some who like it, and if I had seen it in theaters then I would have felt obligated to sit through the full movie. Distractions and lack of the theater experience are not what ruined it for me though. I probably hate it less now than I would have had I actually sat through the entire 2 1/2 hours because it wasted less of my time lol.
