Regarding the timeline,

some internet sleuths determined from the Nebraska football conversation that the events of 6x10 take place in mid/late October 2010. (Unranked Texas beat Nebraska on October 16, 2010, and Taylor Martinez set the freshman record they mentioned the week after). For context...Walter White died in September 2010, so the events of 6x10 are only about a month or so after his death.

Gene says, "484 yards, that's a freshman record" although Taylor Martinez's actual production that day was 437 yards (323 passing, 112 rushing). I guess the error is understandable given all that he had to cram for.

This layer of timeline adds another fascinating wrinkle to the overall BB-BCS timeline.

Even if we cant pinpoint the exact date of 6×10 (maybe they just generally looked up some Nebraska football events from 2010 and the exact week in the season doesnt matter), this nugget puts us much closer to BB than I assumed we were. Gene has only been in hiding for ~7-8 months, which really does add a whole new layer to his story.

The title (Breaking Bad) seems to have a double meaning as they hit the BB-BCS intersection (in color) and Jimmy gets to his Heisenberg moment. He’s actually hitting full breaking bad mode or at least the momentum suggests he will.

Prequels are hard final seasons are hard to wrap up. Probably the worst season by far actually quite disappointed. Hope they came up with a wild finish but I doubt it.

I initially didn't love this episode, but it's grown on me as I've had a chance to think about it. Lots of cool parallels between the Saul/Gene stories, and between Saul and Walt. The title is cool as Saul first appeared in BB in the episode titled 'Better Caul Saul', so it was cool to see the Walt/Jesse cameo come in an appropriately named episode.

There were some cool nuggets from the BB-timeline. Saul ignoring Mike's warning to stay away from Walt, and Jesse asking who Lalo was come to mind. Seems like Gene just being unable to know when to quit is gonna be what takes him down.

Similar to Breaking Bad, this felt like the episode where I finally 'woke up' and realized that Vince Gilligan got me to root for another scumbag character to get a happy ending (which definitely seems unlikely at this point)

I’m not sure I’ve watch a TV series that was a prequel. You’re hoping for a wild finish but apparently didn’t appreciate some of the mind blowing stuff that happened before entering the more methodical Gene world . A lot of “wild” has already happened. TOTALLY disagree but I didn’t like “The Dark Knight” And I think I was the only one.

Already is the operative word there. I am a big fan of the universe BB and BCS but this season especially the second half doesn't measure up.

On Talking Saul Gilligan was asked about how fans should prepare themselves for the series finale, and he said, "Stock up on Depends". A little crude perhaps but hopefully an accurate description.

Good scene with Kim and Jesse. Aaron Paul has noticeably aged since even the later BB episodes but it still worked.

Very good choice to have Kim come clean. Has she exposed herself to anything other than legal jeopardy? Even minus physical danger her scaled down existence could get worse.

Tonight they perfectly set up the last episode. Let's hope they hit it out of the park!

I dunno, I think it's been a pretty dynamite season to date. Every episode is so rich with details and development that dovetails nicely into the events of 'Breaking Bad', so the 2 shows have merged pretty seamlessly at this point. And getting the epilogue/denouement of the Gene story is a nice way to end things (so far...who knows what the actual final scene(s) will end up being?).

Can't wait to see how they wrap up the whole 'Bad/Saul' universe.

The Kim/Jesse scene was perfect. As soon as she walked out the door and the camera started panning I knew who we were about to see, but it didn't feel forced at all. Jesse is the exact type of person to be visiting Saul's office.

One thing I wasn't 100% sure about...but is Jesse's friend who he mentions needs "top-notch legal representation" Skinny Pete? (I think he said his name was Emilio but I can't remember what Skinny Pete's real name was). That would be another cool detail to slip in there since we know that's how they get connected with Tuco

Maybe I am looking for too many explanations, but it feels like there needs to be at least one more interaction between Kim and Jimmy before the divorce scene. Obviously after the breakup it is just a formality for the most part, but Kim & Jimmy are much colder to each other than during the breakup scene. It feels like something had to happen (some sort of argument most likely) that caused Kim to lose her respect for Jimmy (she tells Jesse that Saul "was good when I knew him"). It makes sense how Jimmy would be bitter towards Kim since he didn't want to break up, but it feels like something has changed with Kim as she said in the breakup scene that she still loved Jimmy but that they were bad for each other...not that she despised him or anything like that.

In the teaser we hear Gene calling the Vacuum repair shop. Since Robert Forrester has passed, we obviously won't see a return of "Ed the disappearer." But since we are now post-El Camino, it is conceivable that Ed has passed away or retired from the game since we saw him last.

I’m still unsure how I feel about the show as a whole, but this season has made me appreciate it a lot more. Feels Red Dead 2-esque in the way they use the prequel to recontextualize things we thought we knew from BB. Seeing the Jimmy to Saul transition hit me in a way I didn’t expect.
