About last episode in case guys missed it.
SpoilerAnother great episode, but the last ten or so minutes of this last episode was phenomenal.
Nacho was ready to see Lalo go to Mexico thinking he'll be free, but looking forward to what happens after Mike tried talking Gus into letting Nacho walk.

Obviously these 10 seconds highlight the hypocrisy of Gus Fring but remember "I don't believe fear to be an effective motivator" is ALMOST exactly what Mike told Gus in last night's episode. The subject to be motivated in BB was of course Walter White.Comment

Re: Better Call Saul Season 4 (8-6-18)
Love Kim. Rhea Seehorn has been fantastic this whole series and one of my favorites in the BB universe.
You just know something terrible is going to happen to Kim and it’s gonna be so heartbreaking. That’s when Jimmy will completely die and it will just be Saul.

This guys essay nails why I love this show and why I actually like it better than Breaking Bad

Re: Better Call Saul Season 4 (8-6-18)
Spoilerbut now the cartel entanglement makes that complicated
The following is a unique "reverse spoiler" about Lalo because this info was obtained in a Breaking Bad episode:
Lalo "reverse spoiler":
SpoilerWhen a masked Walter and Jesse kidnap Saul and take him to the desert Goodman asked " Lalo didn't send you? No Lalo?"
So in the entire Breaking Bad timeline Jimmy thinks Lalo is still alive which definitely decreases the chance that Lalo meets his end although it's still a possibility.Comment

Re: Better Call Saul Season 4 (8-6-18)
Would something terrible have to happen to Kim to get to 100% Saul? What if Kim ended up in the arms of Harold? How do you think Jimmy would handle that?Comment

Re: Better Call Saul Season 4 (8-6-18)
Who is Harold? Do you mean Howard Hamlin? Yeah I’m sure that would do that too but seems unlikely.
Kim won’t betray Jimmy, especially now that his life is in danger.
I hope she doesn’t die, she’s one of my favorites but it’s gonna be like when Hank or Mike died in BB, there’s gotta be a major consequence for Jimmy going down the “bad road” that they were talking about.

Kim would never betray Jimmy but it's not a betrayal if you've already left the guy. You're right, the Howard thing is unlikely but I still think he will be a factor in Saul's decline. The sad thing is I don't think Kim would even budge if she knew about Harold's offer to Jimmy and his bowling balls and call girl responses.
EDIT: Sorry Mike,SpoilerI meant to ask you if you think Kim WILL BE killed by the cartel?Last edited by JayBee74; 04-15-2020, 05:16 PM.Comment

Re: Better Call Saul Season 4 (8-6-18)
Would be great if Kim could survive through it and we finally see full Saul. Even this past episode, Jimmy acknowledged hes defending people who he knows is guilty. I almost want to say losing Kim by death could have the opposite effect on him.
The video Rockin posted was great, it held up very well as the seasons went on.Comment

Nacho in a way is sort of like Jesse, he wants to live a great life but is struggling with how he achieves it, so its easier for Gus to pull at what would keep Nacho in line imo. Whereas Walt had little disregard for the consequences of his actions until after the fact.Comment

Re: Better Call Saul Season 4 (8-6-18)
I'm hoping that Kim simply leaves Jimmy/Saul at some point, and that's how it ends. Of course, Odenkirk was f'ing with fans in an interview one time where he said something to the effect of "How do you know Saul didn't go home to Kim Wexler every night?"....gotta love that guy.
Maybe what will happen is that Kim finally leaves, goes back home to Nebraska (where she's originally from, based on that flashback from this season of her as a kid, as when her mom comes to pick her up the car has Nebraska plates), and when the timeline finally catches up to Cinnabon Gene (who is in Omaha), he seeks her out since they're in the same place (state, anyway) and then before you have any idea how it all turns out, the series ends. Similar to the ending of "Sideways" if you ever saw that movie (and if you haven't, you really should!).Comment

Re: Better Call Saul Season 4 (8-6-18)
There was a lady that worked with me in a small Post Office many years ago who was revealed to be something other than what she portrayed and it wasn't flattering. The catalysis that brought things to the surface was a particular task that she felt was beneath her and things spiraled out of control after that. She wasn't a monster, just a phony. Her saccharin sweet disposition and mother of the year persona further crumbled when it came to light that she was discreetly but aggressively going after a younger man in the office even as we heard nightly stories of her wonderful husband and family. The several pronged revelation was shocking and her shame had her leaving a solid paying job two months after all this went down. She had three years in at the time.
Why the long preamble? Because tonight's episode, just like that couple of weeks in 1986 I kept saying WTF, WTF over and over again. Anybody that wants to make excuses forSpoilerKim being under the "Saul influence" can do so and I don't know how Gilligan will play this down the road but should this come down to Kim just showing her true colors?
EDIT: The bottom line isSpoilerKim wanted to leave her high demand job for lesser pressure and to feel good about herself. She's even out-Jimmying Jimmy. He was just hard pranking Howard- she is willing to torch Howard's career and do it criminally.
It was still a great episode and I didn't feel disillusioned. I like that they had the guts to go there.Last edited by JayBee74; 04-20-2020, 11:58 PM.Comment

Jimmy may have some influence over her but even this episode hes trying to get her down from going at Howard.Like you mentioned, she left her job and went to work pro bono, and now we can say its about her feeling good about herself vs. helping people. How do you go from wanting to help people to wanting to take down a guys career so quickly? That's a mindset I dont think just happens.
SpoilerNacho sealed his fate, and to almost no fault of his own. Got stuck in the middle of something he didn't want to be apart of. Lalo will probably get to Nacho, looking forward to how this shakes out with Mike and Gus, knowing what we know from BB.Comment
