    The Haunting of Hill House

We have one episode left, but unless they completely screw the pooch during it I can say it's easily one of the best seasons of an original Netflix show.

I also want to praise how they remained faithful to the tone and themes of the book despite not being a direct adaptation of the narrative itself.

I've heard so many good things about this show, so think I'll start it tonight. Seems right up my alley.

Lots of discussion in the Netflix thread, most every one on here seems to love it.
I am only 2 episodes in and it starts slow. I have heard it really takes off in about episode 4.

Episode 4 is when things click into place. In a major way. My theory was close.

The perspective the series takes feels really fresh to me. Rather than simply relying on jump scares and "ghosts." I don't want to give away too much since it's a central theme and core to the narrative, but I have loved the whole ride so far.

Highly highly recommend. Finished last weekend and I still haven’t stopped thinking about it. Wow. Very tense. Very scary in parts. Gut wrenching. Jump scares don’t usually get me, but there was a jump scare that made me scream and I’m a 35 year old man. It was embarrassing lol. Would love into dive into some spoiler discussions.

Wow. Just finished the first episode. Probably shouldn't have watched it before bed, but what a start. Man, I'm going to love this show.

                    The Haunting of Hill House

                    Here's something crazy..

The House on Haunted Hill on Netflix was written and directed by Mike Flanagan who also wrote and directed Gerald's Game for Netflix and in that film, Carla Gugino (Olivia) played the adult daughter of characters played in flashbacks by Henry Thomas (Hugh) and Kate Siegel (Theo) who is also Flanagan's real life wife.

Oh and if you haven’t seen Gerald’s Game, I recommend it. Based on a Stephen King book.

Ha. That's the scene I thought of when I read your first post.

We finished up the season on Halloween. The last two episodes are emotionally intense and draining.

It came close to sappy drama a couple times near the end but I was really impressed by the whole season. Easily one of the best seasons from a Netflix exclusive and on par with American Horror Story's rookie season.

Finished watching this a few days ago and I enjoyed this series very much. I heard it was scary so I gave it a go. Overall, I didn't find it that scary (there's a lot of creepy moments and that 1 scene mentioned in a previous spoiler tag got me good lol). However, the story was very good and how some of the scenes flowed together between past and present was very well done.

I'd recommend that everyone watch this at least once.

We finished it tonight. I think it was pretty much perfect. I hope they don’t bother with a Season 2.
