My childhood is Stan Lee. Countless hours arguing about who would win a battle to riding our bikes everywhere to get the latest X men and Spider-Man issue. Creating epic battles with our Marvel toys to trying to create my own super hero and villains.

I’m glad we got 95 years to get to know him but you’re never ready to lose him.

Thank you for everything Stan Lee

An incredible life and legacy. I am so sad to hear of his passing. He will be very missed.

What really puts 95 into perspective is how it's like he was already old in that game show clip and that was over a decade before I was born. Talk about a full life. He was seemingly forever old. Maybe that's what makes you forever young.
These days I'm less like "Jailhouse Rock" Elvis and more like "dying alone on the toilet" Elvis.

R.I.P. Stan Lee. The Cameo King. Dude had such an amazing imagination and made nearly all of his superheroes relatable in some way, shape or form. Screenshot_20181113-202150_Twitter.jpg

Found it a bit disappointing the more guys didn't post in here in light of the magnitude of Stan Lee to the comics and entertainment industry. Possibly the most impactful figure ever.... and yet there are recognition threads of, for example, music artists 2-3x the length who senselessly OD'd or the like.

I'm not saying Stan Lee did it all. He may have been more like the Steve Jobs of the comics industry to a degree. But his footprint is almost immeasurable.

What a life lived by Mr. Lee.

He was a forward-thinker in terms of using his platform to speak on - and out - about social issues.

It is rather disappointing in some respects but in some ways i'm not surprised.

I hadn't posted because I wasn't quite sure what to say.

His creations have played a huge part in helping me with depression. I obviously didn't know him personally, but he's been one of my biggest inspirations and influences, and I'll forever be grateful.

I don't know where I'd be today if it wasn't for rediscovering comic books, and there's a good chance that those comics wouldn't be there to rediscover if it wasn't for Stan Lee. He not only brought them back to the forefront in the 60s, but just look at the culture now and how impactful it is to millions of people.

Thanks Mr. Lee. Rest in peace, have a drink with Mr. Ditko.

Also, side note, now if you search "Excelsior" on Netflix, it brings up every Marvel thing they have.

                          Interesting Esquire article

Obviously a lot more complicated a guy than we usually think.

He meant so much to so many fans he never got the chance to meet. He was a legend no matter what stories may come out after his passing.

These accounts have been coming out since the early 90's, and despite their veracity, Lee never took a direct hit. He was a great driver of the industry but guys like Kirby didn't get their just dues for years.
