This extinction thing is weird, they could conceivably have an endless season of people getting voted out, going to Extinction, and fighting back until people eventually give up. That might be kinda fun actually, interminable, but fun once condensed for TV
She's not deteriorating, she just needed the merge feast.

Joe was gonna be top threat from merge onwards. Though Kama sets themselves up for Lesu to band together and take over. Unless Kama is confident in their vote, they'd have a 4-3 split in case of idol, but lesu would have 5. Assuming lesu is even together anymore after that last vote.

If it's like redemption island, we're just having 1 more comp.

Not a big fan of them giving the returnee an advantage. They got voted out. It should be a struggle now that they got a second chance.

Overall I don't mind the whole twist. It's nice to have it changed up every few seasons to keep it fresh especially since players had the normal format figured out. Will be interesting to see the biggest challenge threat have a chance and not get booted just because they don't run the table or find idols.

That's the thing, they don't need biggest twist to change things up.

Having a season with 0 idols is simple, yet changes everything.

Having no tribe switch before merge is another one.

Or even a season with no tribes. Individual immunity all the way. That's a bigger twist, but would be fun to see.

The ending of that challenge was crazy. Lauren passes out and literally drops from the platform. While all that's happening, Aurora is negotiating for the challenge win.

The fact that they keep talking about the upcoming loved one challenge shows why they need to mix things up. People are anticipating certain things because of the similar format and timing used each season.

A few votes away from loved ones visit.

The jury seems so weird having not gone to ponderosa. First season the jury hasnt eaten or gotten a shower or mirror or anything like that.

And we got to see who voted for who. Surprised David voted Eric but Devens didn't.

Is the jury the right amount or are they going to send people home that are on exile island?

There's 8 more people left to be voted off before the F3. There's currently 5 people on the jury.

10 has been about the number they've been using for a jury (I never get how/why you'd want someone in the jury who has been in jury almost as long as they have the actual game, and probably might have had a single conversation or two with someone in the finals in the day or two they've been on same tribe).

I could see jury ending up something like all people on "4444 Extinction Drive" compete in that return challenge, winner returns to the game, and then a certain amount of people remaining can still earn spots on the jury.

That's what I think happens. I guess they get more money. The other thing is they are keeping people involved with the game so they won't be totally isolated when coming back in.

                  Re: Survivor: Edge of Extinction

So, I guess this was yet another "craziest tribal in #Survivor history"!? It began AFTER a commercial break, 25 minutes left in the show.

I saw how much time was left in the show and I was thinking something was up. Either I recorded it longer than usual and it's really just ending soon, or maybe someone quits during tribal(I especially started thinking it during Julies speech) and they continue to have a vote afterwards.

This really was yet another insane Survivor tribal. Sure David wasted that idol, but they were 100% on board with playing it beforehand anyways, and Wentworth directly telling David he was the one they were all voting, you never know if Kama would just stick to voting him after all that.

To think, Wentworth and Lauren still have their idols!

                  Also,

Jeff: Did (Shark eating minnows) really happen?

David: Ya, it was while I was taking a poop.

Jeff: Devens, where are you? Are you a minnow or a shark?

Devens: I might be the poop.

Even the David/Wentworth line later on was great too.

*David taps her on the shoulder from behind*
David: Oh, hi! Remember me? Was the plan me?
Kelley: Ya, we were voting you out.
                      David: Oh, great

                        Re: Survivor: Edge of Extinction

It's crazy that two of the nuttiest tribals happened back to back.

That said, I think they need to stop with the wholesale negotiations during tribal. It was fun last night, but that is going to be an annoying and terrible trend. In this case, it was that Kama has had the game so easy, so on cruise control, that they have no idea how to play the game.

Last week their "leaders" assumed they had it on lockdown with their family visit strategy. This week, Julia, Aurora, and Julie kept revealing the plot in their TC discussion. And calling each other out just made it worse.

I don't know why Julie was so freaking out, as she wasn't even close to a target. She needed to just adopt ron's philosophy, "anyone but me."

I was kind of glad to see Julia go home. Her group has been so annoying in how they view themselves as the anointed Survivor experts this season because they ended up on a tribe with Joe. How have they so smartly got rid of Joe?

And Gavin is a moron. He walks up to a group of five who say after discussion they want to change the target. He disagrees, but they overule him. So he takes this to mean he doesn't get a vote and that it is a dictatorship? No, dude, if you get your way over the votes of five others, you are the dictator.

Again, Kama was lucky enough to have Joe, but that is a team of absolute morons when it comes to strategic Survivor play. Guys like Gavin have not had to actually play yet. And now he thinks making a move to make a move is going help him long term.

Man, I wish Aubry was still in the game. It was fun watching her in the jury, though. But we desperately need more players in the game that understand the game. The next few weeks will be chaos because the dominant tribe was always just a shell. Its collapse is going to reset the game for everyone, and I don't think the Kama folks have a clue how to move forward if they don't have a hero winning their immunities for them.

I like the tribal scrambling trend. Theres so much that happens on the island they dont have time to show, but tribal scrambles makes up for it since we don't need all the background info. And it leads to full surprise moments each time.

A trend I hope stops is the "(tribe name) strong" stuff. People use it way too much nowadays not just survivor.

In Survivor, they just use it to signify their tribe will stay together which makes no sense. Then they get surprised that someone flipped on their alliance when that person was at the bottom. The ultimate survivor cliche.

Another one was when Gavin was talking about how their alliance went from a democracy to dictatorship. People seem to say that after they dont get their way.

"Theres 5 of us here, 3 say we should do X"
"I'm sorry, I thought this was a democracy, not a dictatorship."
