Most of these people aren't highly intelligent and add food deprived minds, not having much interest in really following him, it wasn't that hard to see them missing him. They were tired or lazy, sitting around camp. Most of them didn't even seem to want to go after him.

Most of the time is sitting around doing nothing since they can't do much exploring any more.

Now some of those scenes could have been reenactments to get proper angles.

And like what was said, there are a ton of camera guys running around. They are not just shooting the contestants. They are shooting wildlife, getting footage they is used throughout the season. just because some camera guy is down a hill andfiwlming you up above as you walk by doesn't mean there is someone there.

I assume they are just out shooting, and a contestant comes by, they are trained to stop and focus on them, every time, just to keep generating content that might be used. So, sure, they could jump and walk down every hill when they see a cameraman, but I would assume it would get old when ever and over again it's just a camera man that shooting a lizard eating grasshopper, only to stop and film them as they walk by.

I think it is easier than that. They have a limited number of cameras and if it is following something, it is probably a person. They don't want to miss things, so they may have people out in spots, but generally not just out in the trees filming nothing.

I dont think they're filming nothing, but they probably do have multiple cameras on a conversation so you dont think much of it when seeing a camera 20 feet away when theres one 2 feet from you

You guys make good points but I still don't buy it, Rick was just as malnourished as anyone, hell he even had a stint on the edge, and he still had the energy to zoom around and hide from people and have a good time with it. Regardless, finale is coming up and I'm excited

Gonna be hard to not watch this finale with ECF on. Can't remember last time(if ever) I missed a Survivor finale.

That being said, with so much still to happen, I hope they're able to fit it all in. Lately they've just used reunion TV spot to air final 10 or more mins of actual finale.

So if anyone is recording the episode, make sure to have it end after 3 hours, not just the 2hr timeslot the finale episode is airing in.

(lol, just saw this was my 27k post)

I don't know if the ECF will be on ESPN or not but any chance you can shut yourself off from the outside world, catch the Survivor finale, and then watch the game on demand as a replay?

or maybe you have CBS all access?

Its easier to watch shows recorded than sports. Get too tempted watching recorded sports to FF at times.

So he wins the game because he volunteered to do fire?

I thought that challenging Rick to build a fire was Chris's best play and was telling my wife that he should do it when he was trying to teach the other two to make fire. It really wasn't even that much of a gamble for him because if Devins makes it to the final, he wins, and if Chris chose Gavin to make fire and Gavin beats Devins, then Gavin wins. This was his only path to victory.

I get that him not being in the game for 28 days argument but he did everything that he needed to do when he returned. Chris winning over Joe was huge. As was him getting Devins to trust him with the split immunity idol. Then convincing Lauren to use her idol on him and flipping on Victoria was brilliant, especially since he wasn't safe in that tribal.

He won the final immunity challenge and risked it to knock off easily the biggest threat of the season (something that the other players couldn't do). Despite him missing all of that time he's resume was still better than Gavin's or Julie's. It's crazy to say but in his short time he played a better game than the other two. He had bigger and better moments, outwitted (by getting an Idol played on him), outplayed (by winning final immunity and single handily getting out Devins) and outlasted.

                        Re: Survivor: Edge of Extinction

That was one of the worst finales in Survivor history. It just undid so much of what makes survivor great. I think they need to reign in the hijinks, because it turned the game not a random dice game.

No, Chris, didn't do enough. But the jury was made p mostly of the same EoE Cult that he was a part of. The growth and bonding out on EoE must have been incredible, but it wasn't the game. While chess and his followers were meditating on their lives and how they fit into the world, the Gavin was worrying about being backstabbed and taken out every week. He was worried that anyone he trusted could turn on him. So Chrisre-entering the game with this level of enlightnemt was really, really, unfair. It was as much of an advantage as if they had been sitting on a cruise ship with healthy food and a full gym for 4 weeks.

But it was really the chaos of the first TC Chris joined. There were three immunities for 6 players, which is just dumb. Thats on Survivor. There is no reason Chris should have gotten that idol to play with Devin. That allowed them to run a simple con on Victoria, who was my second choice to win, and to get Devin to waste his idol on Gavin.

Yes, Chris came in and manipulated the entire tribe to place him in the best place to win the game. But, I'm sorry, walking in from 28 days of trust and bonding, free to think out scenarios, is just too much of an advantage when your opponents have been fighting elimination day after day. He knew every story from every person that was evicted.

I hated all the love of EoE. It ruined the game. I'm happy for people that found enlightenment. that's great. Not so happy using that to screw Devin out of getting to the final TC.

Gavin and Devin deserved a chance to plead their cases, and EoE ruined it. Gavin should have to explain himself from some guru form E0E, but he had to because the entire jury was EoE.

Really can't emphasize what a terrible ending that was.

I think this article sums up my thoughts pretty well.

Survivor’s nightmare scenario essentially happened, as a player who wasn’t in the game for 28 days turned around and won $1 million.

                            Re: Survivor: Edge of Extinction

Chris absolutely did enough considering who he was sitting at final 3 with.

Those two goats did nothing all game, they both won two immunities I think playing the entire game, Chris won one of those in only 12 days, beat Rick at fire, and he made a bigger strategic move than either of those two when he got Lauren to use her idol.

I agree he felt like a very underwhelming winner but of the available options he was the most deserving.

Rick deserved it and I wish he would've won at fire but ballsy move by Chris gave him the edge over Gavin and Julie.

Now watching finale. I unintentionally picked perfect one to not watch on finale night.

F3, Chris,Gavin,Julie?!? That's a horrible ending to this season. Devens winning would've made it good. Such a letdown ending

Ending ruined season for me big time. I don't care who wins f3. Terrible ending. One of most underwhelming F3s in history of Survivor. Even crowd was dead in clapping during vote reveal.

It definitely hurts a future winners season since someone here will return for it.

Then Chris, who was in this game for like 12 days wins!? Maybe I should rewatch Survivor China since that season was loved by fans but I hated the ending. I'd probably enjoy it more than this. Speaking of which, sad news to pass along. Another Survivor death. Ashley from Survivor China died(she was the wwe diva voted out early)

                                Beyond horrible.

Chris was the best player of that f3. The problem was that the f3 weren't even in top 5 players of the season.

Horrible ending takes away from rest of season. It'd be like if your team made the playoffs, then just got swept in the conference finals. Complete wasted feeling.

Let's get on to s40 already.
