This premiered on Netflix about 2 weeks ago and my goodness is it GREAT. I had never heard of the comics before the premiere. It's already become Netflix's most watched show of the year.

It's so well done. It sort of reminds me of the old show "Heroes" meets the X-Men. The central story is good but the interactions of the siblings is really where the show shines. Each sibling (7 in all) brings something to the table as a character. I highly recommend this as a watch for anyone looking for anything on Netflix.

It's 10 episodes long, but each episode works off the prior episode of course. It's just very well done. The show has made me start looking into the comics.

Yeah I loved it. I’m gonna rewatch it again for Five and Klaus. Amazing performances by these two as well as Hazel and Cha Cha.

I said it in the Netflix thread that absolutely loved the soundtrack. I love the mix of wacky and serious, it’s right up my alley.

The special fx were amazing too, like the restaurant scene with Five. That was like X-men 2 quality. Pretty interesting powers with most of the 7.

Gotta admit though, was not a big fan of Luther. I know he’s supposed to be written as the dick of the family but he annoyed me different episodes.

I also didn’t get how he got handled by Hazel who’s supposed to be a normal human I thought. Luther is probably 400 pounds and he was getting flipped over.

As for the comic, I was gonna get it but I kinda hate the art. It’s probably a great story but for me to get into the comic I have to like the art.

I think Luther is supposed to be the "Boy Scout" of the group who followed their father's orders without question, so when everything finally breaks down for him, he's practically lost, everything he believed in is void.

I'm not crazy about the art style of the comics as well but i did do some reading, most in relation to the volume the show was based off. Some big differences but they took the jest of the comic and did a good translation.

When their father is talking to the dying woman, he walks to the window and you see rockets blasting off. It's pretty apparent he wasn't on Earth!!!! what an interesting way to start the episode and then completely brush it to the side.

When i did some digging in the first volume of the comics, they say he's not an Earthling which i assume the beginning of episode 10 hinted at.

They also say his monocle allowed him to see a person's entire life. Which might explain how he knew the end of the world was coming, but if he knew that from the get-go, why didn't he treat Vonya better?

The show did a good job of answering questions, but it left so many more questions unanswered!!!!! I can't wait for the 2nd season.

He’s definitely an alien. It’s why he got so rich and brought the technology’s to earth. He also released these golden ashes in the air which looked like spirits. Could be 43 of them in the glass case. Hmmmm. Could be the reason he was so interested in the babies and knows that the future of Earth could go down the way his planet went and these 43 could be the saviors.

Now it’s gonna be interesting when the rest of 35 show up on the show. I was waiting to at least have one revealed but I guess that’s saved for the future seasons

First 10 minutes of season 2, hot damn. That will tell you why i love this show.

Edit: 5 episodes in and I think it’s leading it’s way to be a better season.

No show implements music the way this show does. Always something memorable happens and it’s beautiful the way they do things in this show.

I've only watched episode one of season two so far, but just in that one episode I felt like, although season one was solid, season two is going to be a big step forward qualitatively.

Season 2 is fantastic, I believe better than the first which I loved.

They definitely took a big step forward.

It's based off of a comic book of the same name. It was written by Gerard Way, the lead singer of My Chemical Romance.

I'm not that familiar with the comic, but I thought the season dragged some in the middle. It felt like a repeat of season 1. Then it picked back up and the story was more interesting. It ended great and setup the next season.

Hopefully if there is a season 3 we can skip the internal team turmoil where they all have to split up, find each other, fight coming together, and then finally working together to save the world.
