Re: City on a Hill New showtime series
Anyone else catch Season 2?
Spoiler
Thought it was ok, they tried to do a homeless man The Wire storyline in there. But there was some puzzling choices.
Like, so "Bendrops" is all fine after what she through in Season 1? Nothing some AA for drugs addicts couldn't cure? I understand that after the traumatic experience she went through that could lead to a drastic, and even sudden, change of course, but this was a bit too nice and clean. And now she gets to NYU, wonderful (I don't even remember if she was a good student), writers couldn't make her go to a local college, maybe they want to minimize her character going forward.
Which brings me to the killing of Jimmy Ryan, like, what the ****? Mark O'Brien was one of the best actors in the show, did he not want to go on? It felt meh. You could had done strong, take charge, I will provide for my kids, dealing drugs mom without killing Jimmy.
And what's with Rohr and her wife now being all lovey-dovey? This is what happens, series start hot, guns blazing and then feel like they have to reel it in. Rohr was at least like 25% less of a dirtbag this time around.
The ending again was weird for me. Last season I got confused with the plot at the end, this season that last episode kinda have too much going on.
All this said, I will watch Season 3 whenever it comes out.OSHA Inspector for the NBA.Comment

Re: City on a Hill New showtime series
I think it's gotten a lot better. Not thrilled with all the actors, but the storyline went from pretty choppy in season 1 to pretty legit in season 2. I think those written recaps upfront actually helped a lot.Comment

Re: City on a Hill New showtime series
But besides Bacon the actors aren't exactly A-List, but I do think Jill Hennessy does a good job. For some reason I occasionally get her mixed up with Michelle Monaghan. The actress that plays Cathy most have been told to constantly have a frown on her face. The daughter is the least compelling of them all even after the trauma she's been through. I'd like to see some new blood for season 3.Comment
