I originally heard Christmas 2021 was the release date, so when is this new release?

Favreau’s interview that came out yesterday alluded to it debuting after Book of Boba, which would put it in the delayed past Christmas to early 2022. I’ll look for the link again, came across my Twitter a few times yesterday.

          Re: Mandalorian

Gina Carano (Cara Dune) is gone from Mandalorian following various controversial social media posts she's recently posted.

Given how important she was for the first 2 seasons, wonder where they go with her character. I've already guessed S3 picks up quite some time after S2 ends, especially with it airing more than a year after S2. Probably easy for them to write her off.

            Re: Mandalorian

Apparently they had been planning on giving her her own show and announcing it back at investor day, but changed their mind after posts around Election Day and this was the final straw to fire her.

I think they'll do just fine not even mentioning her character again on the show, won't even need to be explained.

Yeah, easily the most replaceable of the "frequent" characters to me.

I'm not sure how I feel about it. But this cancel culture is wrong in every way and it's gotten out of control.

You know there are many people that I don't agree with. But I don't cancel them and want them fired. I just ignore them. The world should try that.

Too true. But if Disney is gonna grab a larger piece of the Earth than they already have, sacrifices must be made.

I always thought she should be a Marvel heroine .... but that ain't gonna happen now.

Yea they are gonna save face and controversy by just dropping her. It's nothing to them. But I know social media and all these so called perfect people have been wanting her gone for a while.

It's so easy to unfollow someone. Lol I mean that's all you have to do. When I had FB that's all I did to peoples posts that annoyed me. Didn't mean I wanted their livelihood destroyed.

Yeah it's a bummer, she was great in the character, kick ***, and nice to look at.

At least in her case, it was because of new/recent posts she made, unlike many times in "cancel culture" where people dig up tweets or pics from 9 years ago and use that as modern evidence.

                              Re: Mandalorian

There's a reason my social media is private. My views largely differ from those of my employer and I prefer to keep them separate. I don't even befriend anyone on social media that I work with.

I teach my kids all the time that there are actions and consequences to the words we choose to use with people even though they are 4 and 7.

A company cutting ties with someone paid millions of dollars representing them for publicly comparing being a "conservative" to being a Jewish person in Third Reich Germany is a perfect example. It's not like working at Home Depot and once you punch the clock and go home you can **** post away with relatively minimal consequence.. she's a face in a franchise worth millions and I would bet more people know her as Cara Dune than they do Gina Carano.

Do I agree with her being fired? I'm really neutral on it. It's not a show I just love, I don't pay her salary, it's not my company, etc. but I understand why it happened. Every company has a bottom line to protect.

I'm a little torn on the whole thing because I don't like people being purposely obtuse because it inconveniences their entertainment, but I also don't like how we have given too much importance to the words people tweet than they really deserve. Social media is the new public forum and there's some responsibility that comes along with it, but we have turned apps meant for quick and thoughtless opinions without much context into a place where we expect deep and meaningful conversation from people. It's hard to do that with character limits.

If I was a celebrity I hope I would just stay away and enjoy being rich. No one is going to take you seriously when you're making millions of dollars complaining about a country that you have profited from. It's like Matt Stafford's wife comparing Michigan to a Dictatorship. They need to air drop some of these people into real war zones, dictatorships, etc.

Doesn't make it any more right. She made valid points.
