^ Yep, and there are some gems within the Conjuring Universe, like Annabelle: Creation.

Hereditary is my favorite horror film since The Conjuring 2 and Saw.

I'd also add - It Follows, The Ritual, The Autopsy of Jane Doe, A Quiet Place, NOPE, and Get Out.

Everything you listed except Nope I agree with.

I did not like the story of Nope. Acting was A+ story was a dud for me.

So we watched The Lodge…..gotta watch it again. Very disturbing.

The Conjuring and Insidious - love them, can't even count how many times I watched all of them. Insidious 5, sadly, not that good.

I've been hearing it's not, what is the reason you didn't care much for it? Was it slow? Or confusing? Or silly or what?

The new Insidious starts out strong...and then just falls off. The scares simply arent there.

I'll go with that.

The original holds up pretty well for me, honestly. I love the cast and the makeup/design of the ghosts, the lore is thought out, and it's simply entertaining. They kind of lied when they said "There's a ghost in every room" and you didn't get to see what makes all of them intimidating minus a couple of them, but I thought it was a neat concept that was executed well.

I also remember that when I went to see it when I was 13 years old, here was my conversation with the box office dude:

"Hi, two tickets for Thir13en Ghosts?"
"Sorry, it's rated R and you'll need to be accompanied by an adult."
"Oooh. Can we get two tickets for Zoolander?"
"Sure, here you go."

We then of course proceeded to see Thir13en Ghosts haha. The point is... this came out back when Zoolander came out, and again I really do think it holds up quite well.

I actually enjoyed the Pope's exorcist with Russel Crowe. It wasn't scary but I was entertained.

It just felt sloppy. Couldn't get into it. Some jump scares. But it was the worst Insidious imo.

Hereditary is the best horror movie in the past 20 years. I've watched it multiple times and witnessed how it scares the ****** out of anyone who I watch it with.

Insidious series has always been a good series but for me it's not as much my type of horror. I will check out the newest one when I don't have to pay anything to watch.

its pretty good so far (we watched 2/3rds) and I love how Crowe acts in this movie, he's really moved up in regards to how his acting is so much better as he ages...

He's always been a good actor I think but this movie kind of surprised me

OS Official Horror Movie Thread

The Nun II comes out on a week. Hope it does not disappoint. The first one was strong.

Watching Bones and All right now with my wife.

Popes Exorcist tomorrow night.
